A longtime nonprofit executive with 20 years of experience was named this week as the new president and CEO of The Real Estate Council.

Jamee Jolly, who most recently served as the president and executive director of Uptown Dallas Inc., replaces Linda McMahon. Jolly worked at TREC several years ago as a lobbyist and director of public affairs.

For more than 30 years, TREC, the largest and most influential organization of its kind in the state of Texas, has represented over 2,000 commercial real estate professionals and 600 companies annually. The organization’s mission is to cultivate relationships in the commercial real estate industry to catalyze community investment, influence policy, propel careers, and develop the leaders of tomorrow.

“We believe relationships are the lifeblood of career success, civic responsibility, and community investment,” TREC officials said in a press release.

McMahon was a powerhouse at TREC and left in May after 13 years to become the first CEO of the Dallas Economic Development Corporation. TREC Chief Financial Officer Summer Loveland served as interim CEO while a search was conducted.

Jolly said Wednesday she’s excited to return to TREC and work alongside a team, board leaders, members, and community partners who represent one of the most important economic drivers of the region.

“TREC is the only organization of its kind providing influential leadership in our region’s commercial real estate industry,” she said. “I look forward to working together to further that legacy and continue our community investment and public advocacy efforts.”

Jolly ran for the Texas House of Representatives District 70 seat in 2022 and lost in the general election to Democrat Mihaela Plesa by less than 1,000 votes.

“Mission-driven senior executive with a proven background in delivering results under variable conditions,” states Jolly’s business profile on LinkedIn. “Skilled at consistently effecting change through improving and extending present operations and bringing new ideas to fruition. Known for [her] ability to manage cross-functional teams and bring together partners to deliver high-quality solutions. Extensive proficiency in operations management with emphasis on procedure development, strategy formulation, cost reduction, and profitability improvement. Sound judgment and discretion in planning and accomplishing goals.”

Jolly is a ‘Perfect Fit’

Mike Geisler, chairman of the TREC board of directors and partner at Venture Commercial, said Jolly’s history of driving impactful solutions that deliver results, combined with her wealth of experience, make her the “perfect fit” to guide TREC and serve members now and into the organization’s future.

“I’m confident she will build on TREC’s outstanding reputation and successes and will bolster our advocacy for the commercial real estate industry across the region,” he said.

At Uptown Dallas Inc., Jolly led the district through its third decade of public enhancement and community engagement. During her tenure at TREC, she managed the administration of the Klyde Warren Park initiative, one of TREC’s first and most notable impact investments, to transform Dallas and create positive economic development in the community, officials said in the press release.

Jolly is a former board member of the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Texas Association of Business. She also served on the 2020 Census Complete Count Committee for the City of Plano and as a member of the Plano Rotary Club. She is a Leadership Plano Class 30 Graduate, City of Plano Government Academy Graduate, and was named to the Collin County 40 Under 40 by the Collin County Business Press.
