Centurion American Development Group has big plans for the world’s most famous ranch. The Farmers Branch-based developer announced earlier this month that it will create 89 two-acre estate lots at the iconic Southfork Ranch. The developer plans to partner with a curated set of luxury builders to create the quality and caliber of residential development consistent with Parker’s comprehensive land use plan.

For nearly 13 years, Southfork Ranch was a regular fixture on Friday night television sets. The Colonial farmhouse, located at 3700 Hogge Road in Parker just east of Plano, was made famous by the fictional Ewing family in the television series Dallas. (Frisco’s Cloyce Box mansion on Brinkmann Ranch was the little-known first Southfork.) Today the ranch is a premier special events venue and meeting destination, featuring 63,000 square feet of event space, according to its website.

Centurion American purchased Southfork Ranch in October 2022. The 241-acre site includes the mansion, event center, visitors center, and the newly built rodeo arena.

“We’ve spent the past two years working to improve the Southfork Ranch site,” said Sean Terry, Centurion American’s vice president of entitlements. “We have long-term improvement plans to ensure that visitors can enjoy the history of Southfork Ranch for generations to come.”

In an Aug. 22 meeting, the City of Parker Planning & Zoning Commission approved Centurion American’s plans for 89 two-acre estates located on two parcels bisected by Murphy Road near Parker Road.

Now that the project has been approved by Parker P&Z, Centurion American will present its plans to the Parker City Council. Development timelines and contracted builders will be announced soon.

The Southfork Ranch team recently announced a robust calendar of events for Fall 2024, with additional events and festivals in the works including the annual Southfork Experience with Dallas cast members slated Oct. 25-27. You can spend the night in the world’s most famous mansion in the ranch’s Live Like a Ewing Experience. A two-night stay for two is $1,978 plus 26% service and sales tax.

Centurion American Development Group has been lauded and recognized for its commitment to retaining historic buildings and sites, including its work with The Statler in Dallas and Collin Creek in Plano.

Since 1990, Centurion American has developed over 100,000 single-family lots in dozens of premier communities surrounding North Texas. Centurion has demonstrated the ability to effectively work with investors, landowners, financial institutions, and vendors to acquire over 35,000 acres of land inventory, resulting in a diverse mix of developments varying in size and scope.

Delivering award-winning communities with amenities such as parks, golf courses, and hiking and biking trails, Centurion has successfully designed master-planned communities that have been recognized across the real estate industry.
