This Contemporary New Construction Shows That (Fabulous) Details Matter

This week’s Highlight Home of the Week sponsored by Senior Loan Officer Lisa Peters of First Horizon is a dramatic contemporary new construction home in a great area. Tucked into the neighborhood just off Inwood and University Avenue, this eye-catching 2024-build is just walking distance from Inwood Village, and hot spots like Shinsei and Perch Bistro.
This stucco-and-wood home is beautifully lit, maximizing its visual effect at night, but the most important note about the exterior is the stucco itself. Some people love the look of stucco but shy away from purchasing stucco homes because of repair concerns. But this is a three-coat, or “true stucco” process to ensure a long life. Not everyone does that anymore. Just look at the water stains on as little as five- and ten-year-old stucco homes around town, and you’ll see what I mean.
Immediate Wow Factor

Enter into sleek contemporary luxury. The open-concept kitchen/living area is reminiscent of a loft space with its two-story vaulted ceilings, stairs, and second-floor landing overlooking the main floor. The ceramic large format floor tile accentuates the grandeur of the space, and is both practical and luxurious. The space is filled with natural light, both from large ground-level windows and from the gorgeous second-story windows that beautifully mirror the asymmetrical shape of the ceiling on both sides.
The main room is anchored on one side by the kitchen and on the other by a striking floor-to-ceiling tiled fireplace. The kitchen boasts quartz countertops, ZLINE appliances, and whisper-close drawers (which can be found throughout). And just zoom in on that black tile backsplash — it’s fabulous — and while you’re zooming, check out the cabinet door pulls — the pattern is repeated in the drop lights. Chef’s kiss!

A Luxe Retreat
The primary suite is downstairs along with another bedroom that could also be an office. Continuing the black and white theme, the primary bedroom has a lovely black accent wall with millwork. That gorgeous tile floor continues here, and into the bath, where you have another accent wall of black marble. Dual sinks on a quartz countertop, an illuminated mirror, and a soaking tub in the steam shower make for a luxury spa experience at home.

And More…
Upstairs, we find two additional bedrooms, two baths, a spacious game room with a dry bar, and hardwood floors throughout the second floor. Some of the other highlights of this contemporary home include the epoxy-floor two-car garage, the backyard covered patio and gas hookup, and the front covered porch and pavers. And really, so many details, like the recessed lighting throughout the home that adds so much, or the under-cabinet illumination in the bathrooms. Or technical details like, the builder added French drains on both sides of the house, which will ease foundation concerns down the road. And he did exterior spray foam insulation for extra efficiency.
Listing agent Courtney Tauriac said of the developer, RV Design and Development Inc, “There’s a lot of new construction out there, but the consensus from both the buyers and industry people who have seen these properties is that they’re superior to much of what’s out there…This is what new construction should look and feel like, the meticulous detail, down to every line of grout work, everything is finished with care and thoughtful consideration.”
If you’re looking for a contemporary new construction home in a great neighborhood with bold style that’s built to last, this could be the one for you. Tauriac has two other listings built by the same developer for sale as well: 6602 Lockheed and 6515 Prosper.
Compass agent Courtney Tauriac has 6829 Prosper Street listed for $1.2 million.
