This Little Forest Hills Cottage Was Her Dream Home and Now It Can Be Yours Too

8650 Angora St.

Two years ago we featured an adorable cottage on Angora Street, opining that the Little Forest Hills home belonged on the pages of a magazine.

Elisa Silva took note, bought it, and did a little sprucing up. Now this Little Forest Hills haven is more fabulous than ever and back on the market.

Silva said she made a few stylistic changes but the most notable was turfing the yard.

“I poured everything into [it],” she said. “I’m in my 40s, but this was my very first home purchase, and it has been an incredible oasis for me. I’m hoping it’ll be the home someone has been dreaming of as it was mine.”

In Love with Little Forest Hills

You can’t beat the Little Forest Hills location. It’s a short walk from White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum, and you’ll be surrounded by neighbors who plan Fourth of July parades and backyard barbecues.

“Little Forest Hills is a unique collection of homes, people, and spirit, making it a truly wonderful place to live in an otherwise very busy big city,” the neighborhood association website states.

“We are blessed with awesome nature in and around our wonderful ‘hood. Combine that with truly amazing neighbors — who actually know each other — and you end up with one of the best places to live in Dallas.”

Swoon-Worthy in Every Way

So you’ve already got the charming neighborhood, but what about the house itself?

The cottage at 8650 Angora St. features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 1,818 square feet of open living space. The home was built in 1946 but Silva’s extensive renovations give it a modern feel.

An abundance of natural light, hardwood floors, and a spacious hall bathroom with double sinks and quartz countertops give this home a modern vibe. The stylish owners’ suite overlooks the backyard. Two living rooms and a charming sunroom are perfect spots for cuddling up with a good novel.

Realtor James Sharp with eXp Realty is listing 8650 Angora St. for $795,000.
