This Father’s Day will be special for The Ashkinos Group at JPAR Real Estate.
Group founders Shannon and Howard Ashkinos’ third partner, their son Corey, will be celebrating his first Father’s Day. Thanks to five-month-old Calum, the Ashkinos family will celebrate the newest addition to their clan.
Corey said he knows there’s a lot he’s learned from his dad that he can pass on to his son.
“What have I not learned?” Corey said, reflecting on his father’s role in his life. “For one, being a dad, and now I’m taking on a new role in the last five months. He’s taught me patience and how to be a learning, caring father. It’s something I aspire to be for my own son.”
Since they work together daily, opportunities abound for Corey to soak up that knowledge. Howard, though, sees their professional ties as a gift.
“The greatest blessing in working with Corey is getting to see him be the awesome man he is,” Howard said. “Working close enough, you get to see the impact he has on the next generation. That’s the best part.”
Joining The Family Business
Corey joined his family team of Realtors less than three years ago, and he joined a team with decades of experience. Shannon and Howard became Realtors 29 years ago.

Shannon, an award-winning professional, was elected in 2022 as the board president of the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors. Howard was a founding member of what is now known as the Texas Real Estate Leadership Program and is currently a director for Texas Realtors. Both have served in leadership positions for GFWAR for multiple terms.
As a child, Corey grew up watching his mother and “Pops” work hard yet also have time to be involved in family activities, volunteer work, and church events. Howard said that is one of the wonderful aspects of the family’s chosen industry.
“Real estate allowed us to do it all,” he said. “Corey saw what real estate could do and still allow you not to be separate from your family. Real estate is an amazing industry to allow you to do that.”
Corey, one of the elder Ashkinos’ three children, liked what he saw.
“I have more freedom, and you’re still available to your family,” Corey said. “Family is most important in our life because that’s who we come home to every night. They share our struggles and our victories.”
Real Estate, Golf, And ’80s Rock

Although Howard and Shannon live in Aledo, and Corey and his wife Christina reside in Justin, both families belong to the same church. So along with their faith and their families, which includes granddaughter Stella for the Ashkinos, the two men enjoy a love of golf and 1980s rock.
With so much closeness, they have both had a chance to learn from each other. Their real estate work is divided among their strengths, with Corey being quick to praise both parents for what they’ve taught him professionally.
But Corey, Howard said, taught him how to be a father.
