This Adorable Weatherford Listing Has Curb Appeal Outside, Gorgeous Interiors Within

Darling, adorable house alert! The curb appeal just radiates from this Weatherford home. White painted brick, a stretch of green grass, a welcoming front porch, flower-filled window boxes, and an American flag. Stop the car and just stare at this one.

The inside matches the obvious curb appeal from the outside. Over the past three years, the homeowners have lovingly restored and remodeled a house that was meant to be their forever home. The results are unique, beautiful, and special.

The front porch is just the beginning of the charm found here.

“They put a lot of love and thought into the home, thinking it was going to be their family home forever, but plans change,” said Realtor Bre Story with The Ashton Agency. “I have not seen any other homes with this historical charm that has been updated to a T, and I think I wouldn’t change anything.”

In fact, the Realtor, who says there has been a lot of interest in the home, has been asked repeatedly who the interior designer was. As it turns out, it’s the wife, who was decorating this 1936 house for her own family in the Parker County town that’s becoming highly popular.

“She’s extremely talented and did it all herself,” Story said. “She’s definitely got the eye and the passion for it.”

One of the homeowners created the interiors herself.

Architect Earl Glasgow Design

The home was originally designed by Earl Glasgow, a Fort Worth architect who designed other homes and some buildings, including the Ellis Pecan Co. and an addition for Nash Elementary School.

The current owners updated the layout in major ways. Where a former bedroom was, the kitchen now sits, allowing for a more contemporary open floor plan. In the re-imagined floor plan, the former kitchen became a butler’s pantry/laundry room combo.

In its 3,213 square feet, the house includes two living rooms, an office, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Updates include kitchen appliances and bathroom remodels, although the original cast iron tub remains in one of the baths.

Modern decor blends with vintage charm.
The house features three bedrooms with ample space.

The backyard is another highlight. A major landscaping project two years ago included leveling what was once a sloped backyard. That work expanded the outdoor living area to include an al fresco dining space, and Pulliam Pools installed a tranquil oasis by adding the pool with a relaxing sitting area. The additional structure, now used as the husband’s office, is air-conditioned with a half-bath and an outdoor shower.

“It is phenomenal,” Story said. “They put so much thought and money into it. It’s got a vibe, to say the least.”

Peachy Weatherford Location

The location in Weatherford would be tough to beat. It’s just steps from Chandor Gardens and minutes from the historic town square. It’s also close to Cherry Park, the site of many community events including the popular peach festival.

With mixed emotions, the family has listed the house.

“They are absolutely in love with this house,” Story said. “It makes it tough for them to sell.”

Realtor Bre Story with The Ashton Agency has listed this beautiful traditional at 605 W. Josephine Street in Weatherford for $799,000.
