Another Fine Example of Southlake Doing What Southlake Does, This Time with Pickleball

Southlake is known for a lot of things. For instance, its iconic and highly walkable Southlake Town Square with 260 retailers. Or the Bob Jones Nature System set up in the Cross Timbers ecosystem of the region. Of course, the school district is ranked 3rd in the state and Dragon football is practically a religion.

But we – being a real estate site and all – tend to skip over all that stuff and focus our great big googly eyes on the plethora of gorgeous homes concentrated here. One in particular grabbed those googly eyes today: 1501 Moss Lane, listed by Tracey Chamberlain and Alicia Mueller of Ebby Halliday Southlake, the No. 1 real estate brand in the upscale suburb.

This 2019 contemporary on a little over an acre is located within the prestigious gated community of Moss Farms. You don’t have to be any kind of architectural expert to quickly assess that it’s some kind of masterpiece. With over 8,200 square feet of indulgence, five bedrooms, 6.1 baths, and a plethora of cool features, this Southlake house feels like more than just a home. #issawholevibe

“As you step through the grand entrance,” says Chamberlain, “you might want to brace yourself. Or you’ll be swept away by the exquisite designer finishes and modern amenities that characterize each room. There are so many spaces that will compete for your favorite.”

In the entryway, walnut toned walls and 5-inch white oak sawn hardwood floors are on display thanks to the copious amounts of natural light streaming through the glass door and floor-to-ceiling windows along the front. And should it not be bright enough for you, atop the floating staircase is a gorgeous chandelier. We’re banking that it’s just as glorious in there after dark, too!

Side note: Nooks under stairs often go underutilized in other homes, but here it has been turned into a reading/flex space with the addition of built-in bookshelves. Genius!

Next we’ll turn your attention to the Great Room, where one of two focal points is a stunning Nero Marquina book-matched marble wall. The entire block of marble was custom-selected, cut and flown in from Italy. The other focal point is the pocket sliding doors that provide a frame for the backyard paradise canvas, which we’ll get to in a bit. The marble and the oversized see-through gas fireplace both carry into the “lounge,” which you’ll undoubtedly agree is the stuff of dreams.

“I absolutely love the lounge,” says Chamberlain. “This second living area almost feels like a private club within your own home, minus the velvet rope and bottle service. It’s so perfectly appointed with the large bar, refrigerator drawers, ice maker, and two oversized, temperature-controlled wine closets. Coupled with the view to the outside, you’ll never want to leave!”

Other highlights include the chef’s kitchen with Miele commercial-grade appliances, a plumbed coffee maker and full access to an exterior grill and EVO griddle through the separate catering kitchen; a luxurious first-floor primary suite for the sweetest of dreams; an office with dual workstations; a media room with sound-proof wallpaper and an oversized leather sofa that conveys(!); plus a recently added full-size gym over the garage.

With another Texas summer coming up, we should probably get back to the outdoor living as promised. There are three covered sitting areas, complete with fans and perimeter phantom shades, that invite relaxation. And the Claffey-designed oversized pool and spa-for-12 offer relief from the sun and heat. It’s pinch-yourself living for sure.

But the professionally installed regulation pickleball court may just be the pièce de résistance. Two seating areas, one with fire pit, are adjacent, should you have your own devoted spectators.

“With plenty of room inside for everyday living and entertaining, and ample yard space to run and play, every day here feels like a vacation,” concludes Mueller. “We’re excited to connect the next right person with 1501 Moss Lane.”
