Native Texan Suzanne Westrum has been named CEO of the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors. Blake Barry, 2024 GFWAR president made the announcement Tuesday.

With more than 15 years of real estate experience, Westrum’s previous position was serving as CEO of the Prescott Area Association of Realtors in Prescott, Arizona. During her tenure there, Westrum’s leadership abilities were recognized. The Prescott organization was honored with the 2023 Community Outreach Award from the Arizona Realtors and the Business Excellence Award from the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.

Westrum’s career was launched at the San Antonio Board of Realtors first as the communications director. While there, she directed key events and worked on advocacy goals.

“Suzanne is a dynamic leader with a tenured history of association experience that will greatly benefit the future of GFWAR,” Barry said in a written statement. “Her work at SABOR and PAAR illustrates her exceptional abilities, and we’re excited to have her bring those skills to Fort Worth.”

In Tarrant County, the new CEO will work with the Fort Worth organization to steer its strategic objectives, according to Barry. Already she’s been charged with elevating the GFWAR’s reputation in the Fort Worth business community, attracting relevant educational opportunities to its members, strengthening member engagement, and promoting the value of Realtors.

Westrum was born and raised in San Antonio. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and communications from St. Mary’s University and holds a master’s degree in public relations from Webster University.

“I am very excited to become a part of an organization as impressive as GFWAR,” Westrum said. “I look forward to working with the incredible leadership team to build on the organization’s enduring legacy.”

GFWAR maintains an office at 2650 Parkview Drive. Westrum will lead a staff of 11 other employees, according to the organization’s website.

She will head an organization that numbers approximately 5,000 members. Founded in 1918, GFWAR has advocated for property rights, championed housing opportunities, advanced professionalism, and promoted ethics in the real estate industry. More information is available at www.GFWAR.org.
