Open Houses Help Valentines Day Shoppers Find Perfect Gift

Get on it! Valentine’s Day is just next week, so it’s time to buy your sweetie something to show how your heart beats for them.

Instead of running to the neighborhood drug store for a nice box of chocolates and a glittery card, a house could be nice. Obviously, there’s a slight difference in price tags, but if you love someone with all your heart, can you put a price on it?

Romance the love of your life with a home that will make all hearts go pitty-pat at a thunderous pace. We’ll show you some of this week’s open houses to help you, and you don’t even have to say, “You’re welcome.”

7105 Vanguard Court, Colleyville

Instead of a trip to Tuscany, buy your amoré a house that reminds you both of the picturesque Italian region. This Colleyville estate even has balconies — all the better for re-enacting Romeo and Juliet.

Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou?

Listed at one dollar shy of $2.4 million, this three-level villa was built in 2007. Among the recent renovations is the interior paint, selected to highlight the dramatic beamed ceilings, the stacked stone, and the warm alder wood cabinetry. In addition, this house has special “extras” such as a four-car garage, four fireplaces, a walk-through shower in the primary bathroom, and a backyard fire pit.

Its 7,058 square feet includes five bedrooms and six baths, including an ensuite in the 1,371-square-foot basement. That space includes a living area, stone fireplace, and media room with access to the custom pool, sun deck, and spa. The pool’s waterfalls surely will be everything a guy or gal could want.

Agent Denise Johnson with Compass Real Estate will hold this house open from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

9505 Inwood Road, Dallas

Well fiddle-de-de, what a romantic hideaway this Preston Hollow love nest could be. A Colonial home that might evoke Scarlett and Rhett’s epic saga, this 1994-built house even flaunts a dramatic staircase upon which a passionate husband could carry his feisty wife upstairs (swoon).

A modern version of the “Gone With the Wind” staircase?

But wait — there’s more! It will be love at first sight entering this home with gorgeous marble and imported hardwood floors, six hand-carved fireplace mantels, multiple living areas, and a formal dining room. It includes five bedrooms and seven baths among its 7,817 square feet of wonderfulness. Four of those bedrooms are upstairs, along with a media room and a craft room.

A happy couple could have romantic strolls, hand in hand, wandering through the lush and manicured gardens or splashing in the large and sparkling pool. The price tag for this beautiful Valentine is $5.5 million.

Agents Claudia Habibi and Dawn Lawrence of eXp Realty have planned three open houses: noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 17, and noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 18.

39 Braewood Place, Dallas

If absence makes the heart grow fonder, then this Dallas palace would be a great Valentine’s purchase for a couple wanting to increase their fondness. With its 13,713 square feet, two paramours only need to walk to opposite ends of the house, then return to the middle as their fondness meters.

Located in luxurious Glen Abbey, this stunning Santa Barbara-style mansion is all elegance from the start, with sweeping curves and beautiful ironwork in the foyer leading to arched passageways and windows.

In fact, if the arches feel familiar, it’s because we’ve shown you this gorgeous listing in the same neighborhood as Tony Romo before. If you missed your chance to tour it last year during one of the open houses, now is your chance to snatch it up and make your romantic drama within its gorgeous interiors. I mean, that catwalk above the living room and foyer deserves some drama.

For those who want plenty of space for their love, you’ll appreciate the five-bedroom, seven-bath floor plan. And we won’t spell it out for you, but with those mirrors and that tub, romance won’t be too hard to conjure.

Trey Bounds and Ani Nosnik of Allie Beth Allman & Associates can be contacted for private tours of 39 Braewood Place by appointment.
