Behold! 4520 Holland, Unit 106, virtually staged through the wizardry of computers.

If you’ve ever held a garage sale, first of all, you’re my people. I’m not even interested in the cold hard cash, I’m just in it to see who wants my gently used pair of stone-washed skinny jeans. It’s also a great way to unload some oversized kid toys, just make sure the kids are not home. My son hissed at the shoppers once and it was a bit of a situation.

ANYWAY, the point of all of this is when you set out all your worldly possessions on your front lawn for them to find a new home, you gain a little perspective. Do we NEED all this stuff? Probably not.

See? It kind of looks spectacular even without the staging. SO SPACIOUS.

Homes built in the 1950s, like the one I live in, were built for a family of four. A FAMILY OF FOUR. They got by with minimal closets and one bathroom. Because they didn’t have all this STUFF.

I once interviewed a couple that had recently completed a remodel. They intentionally didn’t add more closet space because they didn’t want the space whispering FILL ME WITH ALL THE THINGS THEN CLOSE THE DOOR AND FORGET I EXIST. I think they might have been on to something.

An Efficient Oak Lawn Condo

You know who else totally gets it? This condo. At 522 square feet, this Oak Lawn condo is efficient as heck and completely move-in ready. Like for real. Sometimes people say that, and then the baseboards are dinged up and there’s hair caked in the bathroom drawers. Did you just dry heave? Because I did.

THE OPPOSITE OF THAT IS THIS. Remodeled this year, the bathroom is the stuff of dreams. A gorgeous, blue-veined quartz tile wraps from the frameless shower behind the vanity. I think this should be mandatory in every remodel. Not only is it stunning, but it’s also functional. Just ask any soggy, water-splashed drywall.

Now let’s head out on an “updated” bonanza. Updated bath (check) with custom shower doors, fresh paint, all new laminate hardwoods throughout, fresh quartz countertops in the kitchen, new breakfast bar, stainless steel appliances, new washer and dryer, roof replaced in 2021, and AC replaced in 2019.

The Oak Lawn condo building is gated. The location is perfection – right off of Oak Lawn with Whole Foods and incredible restaurants just around the corner.

This condo is a stunner. Maybe it’s time to purge your current living space and snag this one before it’s gone. Just be sure to invite me to the garage sale. Mostly so I can remind you have much you are saving by moving less STUFF.
