If You Don’t Grab This Cape Cod-Style Home in The Peninsula, I Just Might

Are you a porch person? Then we’ve got a home for you!

We have written about this house previously because it’s one of those angels we would simply love to clone. Back in 2016, our Karen Eubank thought this was one of the Peninsula’s original, remodeled vacation lake cottages from the 1920s. Wrong! In 2016, it was only 11 years old, which is basically calling the home a toddler.

Built in 2005, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home is at 9259 Peninsula, in the heart of the Peninsula neighborhood. This is where the movers and shakers of early Dallas built their summer lake cottages. Back in 1927, White Rock Lake was far, far away from the maddening crowds of Dallas.

And in a way, it still is.

The Peninsula Neighborhood

Why is the Peninsula such a coveted Dallas neighborhood? There is an eclectic mix of only 280 homes, including original cottages with sleek brand-new builds by Cliff Welch and Chase Corker artfully woven in.

This Cape Cod truly pays homage to those original lake cottages.

Even better, this home is two blocks from White Rock Lake. Allie Beth Allman & Associates co-listing agents Gia Marshello and Diana Nelson tell me that if the expansive front porch spanning the entire girth of the house isn’t close enough to nature for you, fields and trails to the lake are right around the corner.

To say the home is architecturally designed with intricate detailing and thoughtfulness is an understatement. Look at the beautiful millwork throughout the home. Look at the beautiful kitchen cabinets.

From a Yank who knows true Cape Cod style, this angel blends historic charm into every nook. Examples: the wall-to-wall hardwoods, the built-in dresser drawers in the upstairs bedroom dormers, the natural flow between the kitchen, dining, and living area, the airy lightness, the side pantry and banquette in the breakfast room, and most of all, the PORCHES!

Even The Dogs Have a Door to The Porch!

There are three: the aforementioned front porch, the oversized back screened porch with, are you ready, a DOGGIE DOOR BUILT IN! Then there is a second screened porch upstairs off the primary bedroom.

The home is now 4053 square feet on .20 lush acres with room for a pool. There are four bedrooms in all, including one downstairs that flexes as a study. The primary is upstairs with two more bedrooms and a playroom.

I know that interest rates are killing us, but this is one of those homes you snag when it’s available. Buy now, re-finance later, and count your blessings and your porches!

The two Allie Beth Allman & Associates agents have 9259 Peninsula Drive listed for $1.675 million. Call Gia Marshello at 214-616-2568 or Diana Nelson at 214-598-1135 to schedule a property visit.
