Princeton Lakes Is The Water Ski Community You Didn’t Know You Needed

Share News:

ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR THIS? If you’ve been under a rock like me, you probably haven’t heard of this water ski community just 20 minutes east of McKinney. Princeton Lakes is a private residential community with four man-made bodies of water built just for water skiing, and one of the homes is currently for sale.

I told you to get ready.

This whole neighborhood was created for recreational and competitive water skiing, so each home features great views of the water. The four man-made lakes, each have a record capability slalom course and jump course. Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty’s Stefany Nau said each lake is dedicated to one specific watersport — there’s a slalom lake, a wakeboarding lake, etc. And if you need more water, Lavon Lake (or Lake Lavon), a freshwater reservoir, is just minutes away.

Nau said every year there are slalom events and AWSA tournaments on the lakes. It’s a big draw. As far as the residents competing? Some are competitive and others are just weekend water skiers.

There are still a few lots available in Princeton Lakes, but get this, the community is NOT new. The neighborhood has been around since 1999. Where have we been? If you already knew about this magical water-filled paradise, then where have I been? According to the Princeton Lakes HOA webpage, the lakes are privately owned and managed by the homeowners and are for the use of residents of lake lots and their guests only.

How about some information about the waterfront home that is actually for sale? This listing at 623 Calm Water Cove is a stunner and a sprawler. It’s more than 4,000 square feet and has four bedrooms, four full baths, and a stunning primary suite. The house includes cathedral-vaulted ceilings, hand-scraped hardwoods, gloriously large rooms, and a movie theater. The three-car garage has a climate-controlled storage area ready to keep that holiday tree looking CRISP. This home sits on more than 1.2 acres.

Every home in Princeton Lakes has a boat dock, but 623 Calm Water Cove has taken it a step further with a two-level dock, boat house, and a motorized boat lift. Nau said some of the docks in Princeton Lakes are pretty impressive and any existing dock is grandfathered in, so you can create your own dock masterpiece if you want.

This is lake house convenience like never before. Imagine spending an entire day out on the lake. Even though the water is currently averaging 85 degrees in this Texas heat, it’s still hot, right? You’re in water, but still it’s that unshakable Texas heat. All you want is the convenience of a big home with multiple AC units near your boat dock. We call it walking from the shore to your door. It’s a killer combo, and that is what 623 Calm Water Cove offers you in Princeton Lakes.

Nau has 623 Calm Water Cove listed for $965,000 and with everything this home has to offer, that just seems like a steal.

That was a great funny read. Thank you!
And NO I had no idea about these alleged lakes.

Princeton Lakes is east of McKinney, not north, on a busy US Hwy 380. It is an attractive neighborhood but I’ve been concerned about getting in and out as there is no traffic light. This may change as 380 is being rerouted around the north side of Princeton. It is slated to rejoin the existing highway in the Princeton Lakes vicinity before it crosses Lake Lavon. What the configuration of this new intersection will be is not known yet but hopefully it won’t negatively impact the neighborhood. The new Sicily Lagoon development north of Princeton lost part of their property when the new reroute of 380 was moved. Progress can be iffy!
