Bedford’s Fireworks Flying High in Renovated Park

Share News:

Where:  Generations Park at Boys Ranch, 2801 Forest Ridge Dr., Bedford

What makes it special: The height of the fireworks and the venue!

Last year was the first year Bedford shot their fireworks 200 feet higher into the sky, allowing viewers far and wide to see the display. It was a success that’s enthusiastically being repeated. “It got such great reviews we’re doing it again this year,” said Bedford City Manager Jimmy Stathatos. “I was completely astounded by how far people told us they were able to see the fireworks last year. Now so many people will be able to enjoy the fireworks without actually coming on site.”

Also special this year is this is the first Bedford Independence Day celebration in the newly remodeled, landscaped, and fluffed park. Known for decades as Bedford Boys Ranch, the park was under construction for about 18 months and was renamed Generations Park at Boys Ranch. This is the new park’s debut as the site for the suburb’s July 4th party with larger areas for picnics and lawn games.

“I think it’s exciting because the park was closed for so long  a fun way to unveil the park now that’s it’s finished,” Stathatos said.

What: Bedford 4thFest, a public family celebration. Music, bounce houses, children’s activities, food trucks, vendors, and fireworks are planned in the park. Free parking is allowed in nearby city facilities—the library, Old Bedford School and city hall–with only handicapped parking allowed on site.

When: July 4, 5 to 10 p.m.

Musical entertainment by The Inspiration Band, a party dance band is planned from 5 to 9:30 p.m., along with an assortment of food trucks, vendors and children’s activities. Then the fireworks are schedule from approximately 9:30 to 10 p.m.
