The Little Blue Bungalow in McKinney is a Successful Airbnb Ready For Its Next Chapter

Share News:

This cutest little blue bungalow in McKinney has the cutest little story, too. It’s right by Historic Downtown McKinney, yet just far enough away to make it the perfect spot.

Back when the current owners first toured it, they fell in love. It was then a single owner — a little gem of a discovery. They made an offer but missed out to an investor.

The investor remodeled it from top to bottom and it came back on the market. This time they won it and turned it into the sweetest little Airbnb.

It’s more than just an Airbnb, though. It’s a genuine, fully furnished, exceptionally decorated home away from home.

That’s not an accident. It’a a family-owned property and one member of the family is Karen Otto of Home Star Staging. Karen said she’s not an antiques dealer, but a collector for sure. She jokingly said if she didn’t do what she does for a living, you might even call it hoarding.

A Little Blue Bungalow in McKinney

Karen had so much to say about the little blue bungalow, not the least of which is how much they will miss it. The next owner is completely set up for success. Not only does the bungalow stay booked — especially during the wedding season and holidays — but this little property is also turnkey. If you want to purchase the home and pretty much everything in it, you can. If the new owners have their own set of antiques, well, then the rest of us are in luck because it will all be auctioned off through Good Buy, an online auction site run by Karen Otto’s good friend, Karen Ferrell.

In addition to pretty much consistently staying booked, the Little Blue Bungalow has also been the subject of artwork gifted by a guest. If it looks familiar you might have also seen it in the pages of a magazine. You see, Karen changes out the décor based on the holiday, and the Fourth of July and the winter holidays are two fan favorites. AND, one final place you might have seen it, on TV. The bungalow is listed as a filming location on two major hub sites, and it has indeed had a theatric debut.

Longmire Group’s Cody Longmire has 1805 West Street listed for $369,900.

This home is captivatingly decorated. I especially applaud the Texan-American homage in the living room. Shkoach (strength to you) Karen Otto!
