Has Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins Relocated to North Dallas’ JanMar Estates?

Share News:

Is a welcome to the neighborhood in order? According to documents we have seen, Dallas County Judge Clayton Jenkins has bought a home in the heart of JanMar Estates in North Dallas south of LBJ, north of Northaven Road.

Word is he picked up a custom-built baby with a breathtaking swimming pool and spa initially listed for $3.495 million last November, but recently reduced to $3.3 million. According to MLS records, the selling price was a bit over $2.7.

We have to wonder if he plans on having someone live with him, or perhaps run an Airbnb? Let me tell you why.

JanMar Estates Mediterranean Built For Multigenerational Living

Built in 2012, this South JanMar home is a real Mediterranean looker and features a second primary bedroom suite upstairs, complete with its own kitchen, living room, and flex space. It’s pretty amazing. Called “the Casita,” the home-within-a-home has its own entrance, garage, and even a laundry room and patio. That’s a pretty rare setup to find in luxury estates and within the same mansion. So that’s why we were curious.

Built on a .76 acre lot in the hilly and treed enclave of JanMar Estates, right in the southeastern quadrant of District 11, the property is minutes away from newly re-elected Dallas City Councilwoman Jaynie Schultz on St. Michael’s. They can walk together on the nearby Northaven Trail, and compare notes on natural gardening.

Jenkin’s new abode comes in at just under 7,000 square feet. The first floor features a large primary suite with a beautiful spa bath, formals, study, exercise, and a guest room. There will be parties: the kitchen opens to the main living area with gorgeous views of the expansive lawn and pool, making it ideal for entertaining.

Here are some first peeks:

The foyer and double-door entry
Study and living off the foyer
Jenkins may need more bookshelves
Nothing like a view of the pool
Grand primary suite No. 1
Jenkins should be tall enough for this shower

Upstairs features a game room and two ensuite bedrooms and a walk-in, large attic space, floored. This luxury home offers pretty much everything for large-scale and upscale living, from the pool and lush backyard to the unique “Casita within a casa.”

I’m a big fan of living in the heart of North Dallas. We are convenient to schools, healthcare, dining, and the best shopping, plus proximate to communities west, north, and east. Perhaps he intends to office at the Government Center at Hillcrest and LBJ?

An exceptional home. How nice it will be to have another politician in the District now that Lee Kleinman is moving to Colorado …

How does a judge make enough money to purchase a house like this

Funny how these are politicians for the poor and equity but their equity always seems to surpass 90% of the residents of Dallas. Makes you wonder about what they are selling us!!!
