Plano is Making News, And These Houses Are Ready for Buyers Wanting in on The Action

The spotlight is on Plano this week. The city rated two news stories last Sunday in the Dallas Morning News’ business section, putting the Collin County suburb in the headlines. No worries, though … the current events are good news.

First, the Shops at Willow Bend, a 107-acre mall that opened in 2001, is getting a major facelift. New plans call for an 18-story hotel, a seven-story office building, and 960 apartments.  All the better to make the ‘burbs a place to spend money.

Secondly, JCPenney, with its operation based in Plano, seems to be revived after bankruptcy. Leadership told the Dallas Morning News it now boasts 667 stores and 50 million customers. All the better to make the ‘burbs a place to live.

According to the most recent U. S. Census Bureau stats, Plano is home to more than 288,000 people and numbers more than 106,000 households. All those people need someplace to live, and this week CandysDirt.com is featuring Plano open houses you can’t miss.
