You’ll Never Have to Leave Your Favorite National Park With This Government Program

Share News:

The Recreation Residence Program was launched in 1915 and is intended to give people unfettered access to the pristine wilderness at national forests. This program allows you to buy a cabin in a national forest while leasing the land it sits upon.

The way the program works is the cabin and its improvements are the property of the homeowner. They are issued a special use permit which is renewed yearly. The Cabin Fee Act allows for a special use permit renewal with associated fee tiers that depend on the base value of the lot.

Of course, there’s more to it than that, but if you’ve ever dreamed of having your own cabin in the woods in your favorite national park, this program could be for you. Find out more about the Recreation Residence Program on SecondShelters.com now.
