A Little Preston Hollow Treasure With Updates Galore is a Cozy Escape in a Supreme Location

Share News:

Hey, have you heard of Little Preston Hollow? The area has lots of million-dollar homes, a stellar location near the private school corridor, and is all-around sought after.

Most of the homes are huge, but some of the vintage gems remain such as this one. It’s just over 1,000 square feet, completely remodeled, and is pretty affordable.

Clay Stapp + Co.’s Kelly Gurnee calls it a vintage bungalow in Little Preston Hollow’s Northcrest neighborhood and he loves it so much because he actually lived in it.

That’s right, this was his personal home.

You know how anytime you go to do work on your house, fix an appliance, or just “need a guy” in general and the first person you call is your Realtor? That’s who hand-selected this house for himself. The guy you get your recommendations from. And the one that’s out there spotting all the home design trends, too, which is why this one is so on point.

A Little Preston Hollow Vintage Treasure

Everything is crisp and clean and just about the only things that are original are the hardwoods, a little bit of bathroom tile, and some too-cute cabinets.

Not only is the location killer — it’s one of the few remaining streets in the Preston Hollow area where you can find homes like this — it’s also set on a killer lot. The backyard goes on and on and here’s a seemingly boring detail that’s actually not, so stick with me — the backyard is level. If you’ve never had the pleasure of leveling your own, it’s a detail that can go unappreciated.

A Home on The Level

Since it is level, you’re basically moving into a blank canvas. You could create raised bed gardens or in-ground planters, landscape your little heart out, or even add a second structure out there. I think. Check with the City of Dallas first. Something tells me they might have an opinion.

If you like cute and cozy, this is one to check out for sure. Gurnee said the roof is recent, the electric panel has been replaced, and there’s a six-burner gas stove in the kitchen, which is a little uncommon in these bungalows.

Gurnee has 4411 Merrell Drive listed for $499,000.
