After a Tense Election Day, We Have Your Home Inspection LOLs Right Here

Home Inspection LOL

Maybe it’s the election, or the possible recession, or the full moon (and an eclipse to boot!), or maybe it’s just me, but does it feel a little stressful around here? Like, what is going on with the Dallas-Fort Worth real estate market? The best way to get through difficult times is with a good sense of humor, and the home inspection professionals at Green Scene have been coming with the jokes lately.

So here is a little home inspection humor to help you get through the week.

A Little Home Inspection Potty Humor

We’re not above it. We love a good dad joke, and you’ll hear, “That’s what she said,” from time to time around here, too. It helps if you do your best Beavis and Butthead snicker when you see this one.

Ceiling Fan May Cause Decapitation

It’s hard out here for a home inspector, especially when you flip on a switch and have to duck and cover because a ceiling fan blade comes flying at your head. When you’re switching your ceiling fan to winter mode, make sure those blades are securely attached while you’re at it. 😅

Crikey, That’s a Long’un!

We’ve discussed pointy screws and electrical panels before, but for the uninitiated, you always want to use blunt-edge screws around electricity. When Home Inspectors check the electrical panel, we unscrew the cover, so what you see here is a magnet the inspector has used to hold onto the screws he removed so he doesn’t lose them. Remember from Sesame Street, “One of these things is not like the others …” That long, sharp screw definitely does not belong.

Slow Down

I think we could all take that advice these days, right? because it’s when we’re in a hurry that we make mistakes. Like this happy homeowner, who did a super job labeling all their breakers. Details.

It’s Funny Because It’s True

A little late for Halloween, but if you’re in the real estate business and you’ve ever worked with first-time home buyers, if your parents came with you when you bought your first house, or if you are a parent (and you can own it) you know this is funny.

I was looking for some great quotes about laughter in stressful times, thinking I would leave you with something wise and profound, and I came across this:

“I think laughter is the best medicine. If you can’t laugh at yourself, then you can’t laugh at life and the silliness of it all.”

– David Hasselhoff

And, I mean, if you can’t laugh at David Hasselhof laughing at himself, then it’s time to look in the mirror.
