When Jim Dauterman and his wife Jan decided to build their Devonshire contemporary, they wanted to feel like their principal home was a vacation home — private, secluded, and at one with nature. I don’t think they could have found a better site with mature trees, a pond, and a creek. 

The 4,964-square-foot Devonshire contemporary was constructed with a blend of stone and warm wood, vaulted-and-beamed ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows offering a mountain resort ambiance even though you are in the heart of Dallas. There are views from every room and every angle.
