Nobody’s going to rain on this parade.

Dallas CASA’s Parade of Playhouses opened July 15 at NorthPark Center and guests are welcome to stop by and purchase a raffle ticket through July 31.

For decades Dallasites have looked forward each year to the fundraiser for the city’s court-appointed special advocates and the children they serve. The event showcases local builders, designers, architects, and volunteers. CandysDirt.com is honored to partner as a sponsor. Commercial development company KDC is serving as this year’s grand marshal.

Twelve custom playhouses featuring everything from an aquarium to a Dallas Mavericks basketball court rolled in and took over the showroom floor at NorthPark Center, and spectators quickly began making donations and scoping out the one they wanted to take home for their families. The detailed, durable playhouses will be raffled at the end of the 17-day event.

“They are terrific, colorful, and fun,” said Rosanne Lewis, public relations manager for Dallas CASA

The agency advocates in the community and the courtroom for children in the protective care of the state so they can grow up in safe, permanent homes where they can thrive.

This year’s playhouse builders include Andres Construction, Austin Commercial, Balfour Beatty, The Beck Group, Brasfield & Gorrie LLC, Butscher’s Backyard Playhouses, Cherry Coatings, Corgan, Crest Cadillac/INFINITI/Volvo, Dallas Mavericks, DPR Construction, Highland Park High School/MAPS students, Hill & Wilkinson, HKS, JPI Companies, Kimley-Horn, Lee Lewis Construction, LRO Residential, Omniplan, Page Architecture, Stantec, and Woodhaus Inc.
