Long Cove Releases Five New Cape Cottages and Chances Are, They’ll Go Fast

Imagine if you could bring Nantucket to Texas. That’s the vibe we clearly get from Long Cove’s release of five new Cape Cottage lake homes at Cedar Creek Lake, located just an hour outside Dallas. The 1,200-acre luxury lake community has become a second-home haven and a go-to weekend spot for many in the Metroplex.

Long Cove was inspired by Florida’s Seaside and Watercolor communities, a collection of eclectic, yet undeniably southern architectural styles. At Long Cove, you’ll see home designs by Dallas’ most prestigious names in architecture — everything from these East Coast-inspired shingle homes to modern farmhouse, luxe modern, and balanced transitional.

Long Cove recently released five new Cape Cottages with a fast-track timeline. This design and construction concept features architectural plans by John Boyd & Associates and Robert Elliott Custom Homes as builder.

“Having pre-designed floorplans and high-end finish selections in place saves quite a bit of time, money, and headache when building your home,” says Long Cove Realty President Josh Ellis. “One of our primary goals here at Long Cove is to make life as simple as possible for all of our homeowners in any way we can. Streamlining the building process is just one example of that in our community. We can shave months off the time it takes to be in your new home for a quicker, easier, and more enjoyable building experience.”

The Cape Cottages are a collection of generously-sized two-story homes on the south side of Henderson Bay with three different designs to choose from — Chatham, Newport, and Seabury. From your lakeside porch, you’ll see kayakers and paddleboarders take to the water, the new Bayside infinity pool, and the best sunrise views at Long Cove.

Newport Cottage

Chatham is a three-bedroom plus one-bunkroom home with 2,824 interior square footage and an additional 722 square feet on the covered porch, which sits just outside the living room and dining area. Chatham, Newport, and Seabury each have spacious lakeside porches that feature a gas fireplace and an optional grill with a wide-open view of Henderson Bay and the new Bayside infinity pool.

The contemporary kitchens feature custom cabinetry with soft-close hardware, stainless steel appliances, and quartz countertops with plenty of room for meal prep.

The amenities at Long Cove keep growing too. This year, Long Cove added a stone amphitheater and stage on Henderson Bay, large enough to host an entire orchestra for events and performances. Now, two new pools and a tree-to-tree adventure park are in the works.

In November, Long Cove unveiled its first of several new art pieces coming monthly — a Whopper Adirondack chair painted by Oak Cliff-based Eyecon Studios.

The Bayside infinity pool features private cabanas, a kid’s pool, and an outdoor grill kitchen. The new Canoe House, adjacent to the pool, is located on a protected inlet — the perfect spot to launch a canoe, kayak, paddleboard, or Fliteboard.

Residents can enjoy sandy beach volleyball, rolling lawns, and miles of trails that meander from woods to ponds, connecting to all the other neighborhoods. You’ll also have easy access to all the other amenities at Long Cove, including tennis, pickleball, marina, sports field, and Lake Club pool. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the nine-hole golf course designed by Tripp Davis, a full driving range, and Thistle Never Dhu, a two-acre putting green (yep, two acres. One of the world’s largest.) designed by David Zinkand of Bandon Dunes.
