Ahead of Its Time, Pink Door Perfection Lives on North Oak Cliff Blvd.

Oh this one is so cute. It’s a little cottage over on North Oak Cliff Blvd. There’s a bay window and a pale pink door and it’s ADORABLE.

The brilliant white dentil trim and everything is just a little slice of gingerbread-y heaven. I love the way the terraced front yard is lined in stones and can you even with the wood-lined porch ceiling.

How about that little gate leading onto the porch? It’s just begging for a Truffle Shuffle. Then there’s the hodge podge of plants that are free form and that just adds to the charm.

AND AGAIN, THE DOOR IS PINK. And the French doors, too.

Okay, I’ll shut up about that.

Nope. I lied.

That pink is the perfect complement to the dark navy exterior. JPAR Real Estate‘s April Allen said when she sold this house to the current owners a few years ago, they decided to paint it dark navy. At first, she was like okaaaay, but now she loves it. Everyone does. You’re seeing dark exteriors pop up everywhere, just proving this couple was way ahead of their time.

On the inside, the cuteness continues.

This North Oak Cliff cutie is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom house and all the floors are original. In the kitchen, they painted the hardwood floors a cool, cement-y, matte gray.

The cabinets are all white and there’s a little pop of open shelving, which is nice because who among us is trying to keep all their bowls and plates and miscellaneous plattery neatly stacked and perfectly lined up all day, every day?

Oh, every single one of our mothers? Oh, OK.

The kitchen and bathroom have been lightly updated and Allen and I talked about how we honestly prefer it that way. They have character and I’m not mad at that tile in the bathroom — either on the floor or the counters.

At one point a sunporch was added and the primary bedroom opens to a patio out back with a fabulous deck and detached two-car garage, which is rare over in the L.O. Daniel neighborhood. AND it’s a Dilbeck. AND when it was originally built it was in the Dallas Morning News.

If you’re interested, give Allen a call. She lives over there and loves it and they JUST did a price improvement on 515 N. Oak Cliff Blvd. to $375,000 so now is the time buy.
