Enjoy A Happy Kind of Life in This Darling White Rock Home

When I first took a look at the picturesque cottage that is our Inwood Home of the Week, one word popped into my mind: wholesome. It immediately strikes you as the kind of place where quality of life is just good – the kind of place where you could raise a happy, little family.

Maybe my impression comes from the sweet bay window by the front door. Or perhaps it’s the subtly scalloped awning above the window in the kitchen. I’m sure it has something to do with how greenery can be seen just outside every window, lending to a cozy treehouse effect.

The home at 9515 Peninsula Drive sits on a 0.212 acre lot, just two blocks away from White Rock Lake in Lake Highlands. It’s listed at $399,500, a truly rare price point for this kind of proximity to Dallas’ favorite lake.

Listing agent Jenny Capritta of RE/MAX DFW Associates emphasized that the surrounding natural location is a definite highlight of the property. “Health enthusiasts will love the extensive trails, kayak rentals & sailing clubs,” Capritta said. “After your workout, walk to nearby restaurants and pubs!”

Although the house has an air of historic charm with its vintage lighting, archways and hardwood floors, the roof and windows are newly renovated. The added bonus room is currently used as a home office-workout space, and could be a future master suite.

As for the property’s top highlights? There are too many to choose one. “Enjoy views of the lush lawn from the bay window, cozy up near the fireplace, or dine with the ambiance of a stained glass window,” Capritta said.

The fireplace in the living room was certainly a feature that stood out to me. It has clean white tile and a timeless wooden frame. On each side, there are two loveseats and two windows flanking the fireplace for optimum coziness.

Some other notable details: The added bonus room at the back of the property is currently used as a home office and workout space, but could easily be a future primary bedroom suite, turning this house from a two-bedroom to a three-bedroom. The current primary bedroom is flooded with light due to windows gracing three of the walls. In the backyard, you can just imagine dining al fresco under the shade of the trees. See what I mean? Wholesome.
