Cliff May Midcentury Modern Is the Cat’s Meow In Casa View Oaks

Share News:

Midcentury Modern buffs take note! This Cliff May beauty in Casa View Oaks is unlike any other. In fact, our resident design guru Karen Eubanks calls it, “A totally different style of Cliff May that feels like an intimate Dilbeck. Totally updated for the modern lifestyle. Three large bedrooms and two baths with an amazing outdoor deck. George Bass Designs did this one!”

In fact, if this home looks a little familiar, it’s because you’ve seen it right here (and here, and at this home tour)!

Once we caught wind of this, we were intrigued. And the Midcentury Modern gem does not disappoint! Take a peek around this week’s Friday Four Hundred with insights from listing agent, Kimberly Ashmore of Allie Beth Allman & Associates.

Rare Size And Scale In This One-Of-a-Kind Cliff May Midcentury Modern

“What I love about this Cliff May Midcentury Modern in Casa View Oaks is the size,” says Ashmore. “It’s 2,200 square feet, which is rare.”

Nestled on a heavily treed lot, the home affords three-bedrooms, two-bathrooms, and style for days! We love the light and airy feel and clean lines that are balanced by rich hardwoods and natural textures.

You’ll find oversized windows and skylights, a kitchen clad with modern hardware and open shelving, and an easy open flow to the living and dining areas that feels like a natural extension. This is thanks to those stunning plank floors and lighted vault ceiling that anchors it all.

Masterfully Updated For The Modern Owner While Paying Homage To Cliff May

“It’s updated for the modern owner,” says Ashmore. “And would be perfect for a family of any size. Two intimate separate living spaces, a generous owner’s suite that overlooks the south side of the grassy lot, with laundry room and walk in closet. This home has a massive guest room with those famous Cliff May windows.”

We love the eye-catching master which affords a spa bath with double sink vanity in a coastal turquoise hue. There is also a super-sized shower with subway and penny tiles in classic black and white, and a lovely home office too!

Architecturally Stunning With A Fab Casa View Oaks Locale

As if that’s not enough, this beauty has fantastic outdoor spaces for entertaining.

“The kitchen is open concept and overlooks the dining, and great outdoor deck space, combining indoor and outdoor living effortlessly,” Ashmore adds.

Essentially tripling your living space, the inviting outdoor deck with fire pit is exactly where we want to be this fall. Plus, the location can’t be beat!

“Casa View Oaks is where local urban living is happening,” says Ashmore. “Original restaurants, shopping, parks, public and private schools, all with a short bike ride to White Rock Lake.”

You’ll be minutes from all the hotspots. But back at home, it’s all about connecting with nature and basking in the glamour of modern living.

A Steal Of A Deal On Andrea Lane

“I just sold 2614 Andrea next door for $414,000 with 1320 square feet, so this one at almost 2,200 square feet at $459,000 is a steal!”

Come see for yourself at the Open House, Sunday, October 4, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Kimberly Ashmore with Allie Beth Allman & Associates has listed 2620 Andrea Lane for $459,000.

I worked for Cliff May in 1988 as his admin assistant. There was so much history of his homes; plans, sketches, notes everywhere in the office. He was very fragile but refused to quit. It wasn’t until later that I realized just how important he was to the design of the California home style.

I could not agree with you more! I’ve had the honor or representing two Cliff May Homes, 2620 and 2614 Andrea for sale in East Dallas. He was truly a an architectural maverick with such vivid attention to detail and the usability of every inch of space.
