Plenty of northern Collin County growth has landed along the Dallas North Tollway in cities like Frisco, Prosper, and Celina, but U.S. 75/Central Expressway is the next hot spot for northern growth.

The city of Anna has given the green light to Farmers Branch-based Centurion American to build Hurricane Creek North, a residential development along the Sherley Tract, which will be part of the mixed-use project, The Villages of Hurricane Creek.

Phase 1 of the project will consist of Hurricane Creek North, which is slated to begin in early 2021, and will consist of single-family residential development and an amenity center.

“The Villages at Hurricane Creek will be the first mixed-use development on the west side of US-75,” said Centurion American president and CEO, Mehrdad Moayedi. “This project will be the first of its kind in Anna, and we’re excited to bring unparalleled amenities and further economic growth for the community.”

The single-family residential home sites include one and two story homes, a collection of garden homes, and townhomes. The area will also have plenty of green space comprised of a variety of creeks, ponds, trails, open space, lookouts and park space. Timing for future phases for the Villages at Hurricane Creek will be determined at a later date. The development also includes a signature water feature and the planned building of Anna’s first hotel.

“Anna is one of the fastest growing towns in North Texas, and we’re proud to be a part of the positive growth story there,” Moayedi continued. “The Villages at Hurricane Creek will offer a diverse collection of housing and the kind of community amenities that will make it a sought after community.”

The development will sit on 325 acres of prime real estate near I-75 and 475. The completed Villages of Hurricane Creek project will ultimately incorporate 984 single-family homes, 400 multi-family residences, 50,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, as well as a community and botanical garden, hiking trails and an amenity center for residents.

“The Villages of Hurricane Creek project will kick off development on the western side of US 75 and provide diverse housing options and amenities for Anna neighbors,” said Anna Mayor Nate Pike in a release. “We are also excited about the commercial and entertainment options that our community desires.”

Map of Centurion American’s existing projects

Centurion American has developed master-planned communities such as the Riverwalk in Flower Mound and Entrada at Westlake. The Farmers Branch company also developed the Statler Hotel into residences in Downtown Dallas, is working on the Cabana Motor Hotel on Stemmons, and most recently announced plans to resurrect the Braniff building on Wycliff.

It’s unfortunate and apparently deliberate that Princeton, which is in Collin County as well is not mentioned as another fast growing city in the North, albeit on the east of McKinney!

American Centurion is also building a master planned community (Whitewing Trails) here in Princeton.

    Why no recognition?

Hi Anthony, not deliberate at all. We’d love to hear more about Princeton and how it’s rapidly growing.
