Lakeside on Preston

Lakeside on Preston Credit: Mesa Design Group

Lakeside on Preston is one of those neighborhoods about which you’ll always hear a great compliment. For good reason, these west Plano homes are situated in a peaceful 15-acre enclave of ponds amid the prime location of Preston near Park Blvd. and Parker Road. The neighborhood of approximately 500 homes ranges from $620k to $2 million, where residents have access to a community pool, tennis courts, clubhouse, bike path, and even an electric car charging station. Lakeside Market across the way is home to the Plano location of Weir’s (and upstairs outlet), Mi Cocina, and Breadwinners to name a few. It’s zoned for top-notch Plano ISD schools, including Brinker Elementary, Renner Middle School, Shepton High School, and Plano West Senior High, according to GreatSchools.

This completely remodeled two-story home with pool in Lakeshore at Preston is an amazing find for west Plano. The 1993-built concrete stucco home, situated in front of the neighborhood’s signature lake, has undergone more than $350,000 in updates, including new paint, carpet, wood flooring, countertops, and appliances. But the sellers also tackled high-end finishes such as the Carrera Herringbone tile backsplash in the kitchen and the marble and brass mosaic backsplash in the formal wet bar.

Voila, you’ve got a stunning home. Actually, it’s already certified stunning. This 1995-built home was named the 2009 Best Whole House Renovation Award winner by the Dallas Builders Association. The two-story home with saltwater pool is another looker from the Lakeside at Preston neighborhood. Modern Mediterranean on Trail Lake Drive

Address: 5057 Trail Lake Drive, Plano

  • 4 bedrooms, 3 baths
  • 3,428 square feet
  • $625,000
  • Listed by Sharon Ketko of Sharon Ketko Realty

This 1992-built Mediterranean villa with white hardcoat stucco and Spanish tile roof is a standout on the block, even if it’s one of the smallest square footages in the luxury neighborhood. The mission-reminiscent windows and leaded glass door hint at the unique curves you’ll find inside. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say the pass-through fireplace dividing the two living areas has fabulous hips like a 40s era Studebaker. The upstairs master has vaulted ceilings throughout with custom closet, garden tub, standalone shower, and even a laundry chute down to the first-floor laundry room.
