New Leaf Custom Homes Brings Originality To The Next Level With Lakewood Home

We have a gorgeous custom build by Candy’s Dirt Approved Builder New Leaf Custom Homes to show you in the Maplewood neighborhood of Lakewood. It’s a 4,363-square-foot home with five beds and five baths that has one of the most forward-thinking designs when it comes to incorporating the way the outdoors works with the rest of the house.

The living room with adjacent kitchen relies on an exposed concrete floor with a high-gloss seal to bring a subtle sheen to the room. The muted beige wall is made of stucco, which matches the texture of the exterior walls. That way, when those huge sliding glass doors are open to the outside the room has a feel of being an outdoors space, but with the added benefit of being under a roof and near the kitchen.

This living room just keeps getting better with a dual set of sliding glass doors to bring in even more of the outdoors. Plus the kitchen is designed to blend into the background so it doesn’t dominate the space. Notice how the designers kept all the major components to the same crisp white finish and used the length of the island to quietly delineate the space. It has everything a kitchen needs, but incorporates all the different pieces in a way that you barely notice they are there. We should also mention that tile on the back wall is just the beginning of the unique tilescapes we are going to see in this house. New Leaf tells CandysDirt.com that it is hand-cast glazed fireclay tile set into the wall with dark gray grout.

Here’s a close-up of the kitchen. It has all the convenience of a galley kitchen but all the spaciousness of one that is luxury and high-end.

The master bedroom is so large it could easily be confused for a living room. That feature wall will double as a headboard on one side and the resting place for the vanity and double sink on the other. The room takes advantage of being on the first floor by having more sliding glass doors that open out onto the fire pit and pool in the backyard. This open-air bedroom design gives it a feeling of a Hawaiian lanai, but with a bedroom instead of a living room.

Now it is finally time to tell you about this amazing master bath. We love the window that is practically the size of the wall right next to the soaking tub. It looks out onto the side yard which has been filled with gray gravel to give a Zen garden feel. The stained wood horizontal board fence at the property edge creates both privacy and a modern touch to the setting.

While we’re on the topic of bathrooms, take a look at the decorative tile accent walls in the following pictures. Every bathroom in this home is unique and here’s just a few of them to give you an idea.

We have more of the upstairs rooms to show you, including this kids’ loft area. Brett Davis, vice president of design for New Leaf Custom Homes describes the loft by saying, “It’s a really fun space with built-in beds, which function as a couch and hang-out space. The desk in the loft is custom-made and has hairpin legs for support.”

We have a few more pictures to show you of this one-of-a-kind build. The backyard patio with built-in grill is designed to feel like it is part of the house once the sliding doors are open. And just check out the profile of the house from the back. It stuns even from the other side of the pool.
