Contemporary Townhome on Wycliff Puts The Best of Dallas on Your Doorstep

When I first moved to Dallas, the dream was to eventually upgrade my address until I ended up in Oak Lawn. I started out as a college graduate and single gal in a shoebox of an apartment off of Lovers Lane, but I loved the walkable, sophisticated urban vibe of Oak Lawn.

It remains a dream to me, as I’ve settled into life as a mother and wife in the White Rock Lake area, but every once in a while I come across a property that rekindles that urge to be in the thick of things in a bustling, exciting neighborhood close to downtown Dallas. Naturally, I fell head over heels with this contemporary townhome listed by Phillip Murrell of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. The property, one of three gorgeous townhomes collaboratively designed by Bauhaus Custom Homes’ own Marc Kleinmann, features unfettered lines, luxe finishes, and a location that can’t be beat. It’s the obvious choice for this week’s High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans

Murrell shares my excitement over this unit, which has clean contemporary architecture with a bright, open floor plan that wastes no space. Thanks to its end-unit location, you get tons of light through the windows, highlighting the dramatic interiors with sophisticated finish-out. The three-story staircase offers some welcome eye candy, Murrell noted, allowing light to pool around it in interesting ways.

Unit No. 3 at 4015 Wycliff Avenue has pretty much everything buyers want today, including heavily sought-after outdoor space that comes at a premium in this walkable, increasingly dense neighborhood. With 2,210 square feet, three bedrooms, three full and one half baths, and gorgeous finishes, we can see why this property — listed by Murrell at $539,000 — quickly went under contract. The HOA fees are an incredibly reasonable $250 a month, and include maintenance of outdoor areas.

The gas fireplace is flanked by even more beautiful custom cabinetry that fits flush and offers tons of storage.

The first thing you notice when you walk into Unit No. 3 is how private it feels. Situated furthest from the curb and built with double-pane, energy-efficient, Low-e windows, you could hear a whisper across the room. The second thing you notice is all of the beautiful cabinetry.

“The custom millwork is definitely high-end and beautiful,” Murrell said. “The kitchen cabinetry has the most beautiful lines. It’s perfectly crafted.”

While there’s room for a dining table, the eat-in island is where you’ll find most of the action. Topped with an artful slab of granite that is continued on the surrounding counters, it adds some wonderful texture to the bright neutral palette. The Kitchen Aid stainless steel appliances might coax you away from the many nearby restaurants, though they’d more than adequately heat up some hors d’oeuvres at your housewarming party — just don’t forget to invite us!

The home comes complete with Duette shades, designer lighting, smart home features, and dark hardwood floors that look so rich I could eat them up.

When I think of a great master suite, this comes pretty close to the mark. It truly has something for everyone. Love long, leisurely showers? There’s a giant one here with a waterfall head. Want custom cabinetry? That vanity has some gorgeous drawers. Up for a soak in the tub with a glass of bubbly? Make sure you bring the bottle and ice bucket because who are we kidding here? It’s bright and private, thanks to the custom shades and huge windows.

Of course, while the interiors definitely impress, I can’t deny that on my list of things that I love about this property, the outdoor space closes the top three. “There’s outdoor space that is great for entertaining,” Murrell noted. It’s one of the unique features that show why Unit No. 3 at 4015 Wycliff is the obvious choice for our High Caliber Home of the Week presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans. Don’t wait to contact Lisa to get approved to put in your highest and best offer should this contract fall through!

Want to see these light and bright spaces in person? Murrell is hosting a broker open on Jan. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to noon
