Spacious and open rooms with great natural light define a house we’ve discovered in the Kingsley Meadows neighborhood of Lake Highlands and its price tag is well under $400K. It’s a great find!

Our Thursday Three Hundred at 10812 Hayfield Dr. is near Walnut Hill Lane and Plano Road, sitting on a quiet cul-de-sac. The house is updated with newer HVAC and windows and the interior is easy on the eyes. This home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, and 1,895 square feet on one story, built in 1974.

Hardwood floors run throughout the house and they’re lovely, a rich medium shade. They greet in the front living-dining area, an unusual space with a stainless steel dry bar with two wine chillers/mini refrigerators and a passthrough window to the second living area. This room offers a lot of functionality, something you can’t necessarily say about a lot of houses with formal areas.

In the second living area, you’ll find vaulted ceilings, a large wood-burning brick fireplace, and double French doors leading to the backyard. This room is partially open to the updated kitchen, a stylish space with wood ceiling beams, a contemporary tile backsplash, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. There’s plenty of storage space and lots of white cabinets. The refrigerators conveys with the sale of the house.

Hardwoods extend into the three bedrooms, all of which are lovely with the same color palette of grays and whites as the rest of the house.

Finally, there’s the backyard, a relaxing area with a patio, landscaping, mature trees, and a wood privacy fence.

The only downsides to this house are the curb appeal, which suffers from a cracked sidewalk and sparse landscaping, and the bathrooms, which are a little blah. Everything else works together beautifully to create an appealing package.

This Kingsley Meadows house was listed Dec. 18 by Tasha Mallow with Century 21 for $355,000
