Gene Taylor and Josh Ellis

I know that Josh and Gene have been working on this for at least five years, and I think the world of both. Gene and I go way back… well, not that far back, but we have even traveled together (smile). He was at Ebby, then Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s, then Dave Perry-Miller, from whence he just left. Josh I know from when he worked with Kyle Crews and sold out the Residences at The Ritz Carlton, Dallas, then went on to launch Long Cove for Don McNamara, the developer and investor behind Cityplace and West Village in Uptown. If I could clone him, I would. He is an incredible marketer with a beautiful family to boot. These are two really great men.

It’s like I said yesterday, agents want more for their commission split share from their brokers, and it looks like these guys are going to deliver. Stay tuned, as I will be talking to these two because I have MANY questions. Not to be Debbie Downer, but it’s easy to start a brokerage, harder to keep it alive. But like the industry expert I just got off the phone with, real estate is changing quickly, driven by technology, and NATIVE might just have the secret sauce. PS: Really love the name, since obviously we are all about NATIVE advertising!

DALLAS LUXURY REAL ESTATE VETERANS LAUNCH

TECHNOLOGY-BASED RESIDENTIAL BROKERAGE, NATIVE REALTY

DALLAS – November 1, 2017 – NATIVE International Realty, a technology-based residential real estate brokerage firm announced today its launch and the opening of its Dallas headquarters. Founded by local luxury real estate veterans Josh Ellis and Gene Taylor, NATIVE offers a truly innovative approach to the market by combining world class proprietary technology with top-tier agent advisors.  The unification of these components creates a better, faster and easier buying and selling experience for all, while providing a higher level of customer service throughout the process.

After experiencing frustrations as brokers and listening to the complaints and recommendations of consumers, Ellis and Taylor set out to create a brokerage concept that meets the ever-changing needs of their clients as well as those of talented agents and leverages the opportunities that exist in the modern era of residential real estate. The final product resulting from countless hours of brainstorming, strategizing and research is a unique proprietary technology platform that integrates NATIVE’S highly successful team of Agent-Advisors and stands on the forefront of the real estate revolution.

“Because technology has transformed the way consumers research, buy and sell their homes, residential real estate finds itself in a brave new world of technological accessibility. However, with this accessibility comes the overwhelming burden of sifting through all the readily available information, while cherry picking assistance from lackluster digital tools and un-savvy agents,” said NATIVE Founder, Josh Ellis. “So in response to an industry in desperate need of positive change, we built an intelligently designed mobile-first, end-to-end real estate platform that realizes the transformative power of technology, without sacrificing intimate, individually focused client service from our team of the top agent advisors in the business.”

Alongside the proprietary technology tools, NATIVE’s experienced and knowledgeable Agent-Advisors are adept at listening, understanding and anticipating the needs of the client, to serve as trusted and informed partners through the entire home buying and selling process. The current team is actively and selectively recruiting seasoned and talented real estate professionals who recognize the need for innovation in the industry, but also understand the importance of creating a trusting relationship with each client to provide the highest level of customer service and a more valuable overall experience. Because of NATIVE’s commitment to efficiency in the home buying and selling process, the company’s agent-advisors will able to serve existing clients, in addition to committing quality time to growing their business. Company leaders also are dedicated to matching their team of quality, successful agents with the best, most customized marketing support in the industry.

Co-Founder Gene Taylor noted, “For years Josh and I have discussed the need for a new model in residential real estate. Our industry is notoriously late to adopt new technologies, and despite the inevitable tipping point, so many brokerages are just waiting for the change instead of being proactive about making change themselves. We are attracting those highly successful agents who are tired of waiting.” He adds, “Providing our agent advisors with the best technology and an unparalleled marketing strategy will allow them more time to grow their business and focus on turning every one-time customer into a customer for life.”

NATIVE’s advanced, proprietary technology is the first to offer consumers a simple, efficient and empowering experience, which fulfills all their real estate needs in a single location. In the form of a mobile digital software app and website, data and value-added services streamline and improve the home buying and selling process. Key features of the app include:

Simple, Intuitive Interface: NATIVE starts with what you’d expect—a GPS pinpointed map, along with the ability to toggle between map view and a full scrollable listing of properties in any given dynamic viewing area. What’s more, users will be able to quickly identify, find and explore clusters of listings in a given neighborhood or multi-unit building through NATIVE’s roll-up feature that groups clusters of listings and quickens the search process.

Comprehensive MLS Data: NATIVE users will enjoy the advantage of knowing up-to-the-moment comprehensive information on available properties on MLS, along with an intuitive and organized display for property overview or more detailed exploration of the features of a particular listing.

3D, Virtual Reality and Dollhouse Views: The NATIVE app incorporates the latest home viewing technology. Matterport is a 3D technology that transports a full and virtual reality home tour to your mobile device. This innovative and time-saving technology will help shorten the search and selling process. Buyers will effectively be able to tour multiple NATIVE listings in one sitting, and homes can be previewed and toured virtually, allowing for less disruption to sellers. Finally, NATIVE home listings can be previewed in a dollhouse view that allows users to rotate and zoom through the interior layout and configuration of an entire home in seconds.

Make An Offer Now and Connect: NATIVE users have the ability to put in an immediate offer on a home through the NATIVE app. Items like offer letters, pre-approval papers and details of the offer can all be handled through the app for immediate submission of an offer. NATIVE app users also can connect directly to a local NATIVE Agent-Advisor to work through offer details or for more personalized assistance.

Concierge: NATIVE is partnering with vetted and local service providers for special offers exclusively for NATIVE account holders (free), whether they are buying or selling a home. Housecleaning services, interior design and staging, landscaping, home repairs and maintenance, moving services and pest control are some of the service categories that will be offered.

Other Features: NATIVE’s other app features include additional conveniences not found in all other mobile real estate apps—saved searches, recently viewed, favorited homes, notifications on home status change, scheduling tours and connecting directly with a dedicated agent.

While initially launching in Dallas, NATIVE is a global and scalable platform with plans for national and international expansion in the future. The Dallas NATIVE office is located at 3232 McKinney Avenue in One McKinney Plaza. The office features a sophisticated, warm, open-concept environment to encourage collaboration and teamwork.

This has all been done before. The free Realtor.com mobile app already does everything you described above (along with several other apps). And the Make an Offer option isn’t an actual binding offer. It’s just another way for the brokerage to capture buyer leads and increase their presence for marketing and branding purposes–i.e. they just gave the “Contact Agent” button a new name.

No disrespect to Gene and Josh, but nothing mentioned in this article is “new” or “innovative.”

No disrespect to you, Bubblebutt, but putting this all together AND executing really hasn’t been done before. Gene Taylor is a brilliant relationship builder and marketer. His “Rolodex” and Josh’ youthful tech savvy will rock the world they’ve been serving so well for so long. You might try saying “congratulations” sometime.

If anyone can pull this off, these guys can. I look forward to see how they make it work.
