Shane Walker, We Found You! Cher and Cher Alike!

Shane Walker, Cher (duh!), and Billy Fulmer

Our new Wednesday feature, Wednesday WTF, brought us a home that looked like complete shrine to Cher. I mean, who would have a home like that, right? Only a very creative, very loyal fan who faithfully Chers the love all over not just his palace, but his TOWN!

It didn’t take us but two minutes to learn that 1202 Kessler Parkway, on the market for $599,900 (listed July 11, with Carmen Chapa), belongs to that doyenne of huge hats and floral design, the inimitable Shane Walker! His company, Flower Reign, has outfitted more winning hat designs for the Dallas Mad Hatter’s Luncheon than any designer in Dallas. You want to win Mad hatters, you hire Shane Walker. And he rules the Pooch Parade. Shane does weddings, events, dinners — you name it — with every design unique and totally out of the box!

So this is SHANE’s pad! We love every inch of it! We even spy one of his floral creations right there in the kitchen…

This North Oak Cliff home at 1202 Kessler Parkway has a great location and sits on a stunningly wooded corner lot that is more than a quarter of an acre in size. There are hardwoods throughout the home. The kitchen has been completely updated with new stainless appliances and a custom built island with sleek lines. There are two fireplaces, located in the living room and den. The new fence is freshly hewn (you can still smell the cedar!) and a new roof and leaf guard gutters are coming, on way. Tree trimming any day now. The stone patio features a beautiful new fountain that will remain. The home was built in 1940, renovated, beautifully maintained, and perfectly sized for a young family or couple at about 1900 square feet. There are three bedrooms, two baths, formals, oh oh oh are there FORMALS!

You’ve not seen anything yet until you see these formals! Next, we must get the scoop from Shane on where he is moving. Come on, baby, Cher it with us! Because, she’s going along, right?

Well, Candy, I see you had to come in and fix this. Boy, what a 180 you’ve done. From Bethany eviscerating this homes quirks to having you now step in raving about how fabulous it is? I hope Shane gets plenty of coverage out of you for the tasteless Wednesday ramblings about his home. Still, the line “one anonymous Dallas gay A-lister said, “It’s proof that not all gays have good taste.”” is tasteless in itself. Shane, stay unique.

Thanks for chiming in! Honestly, we see a lot of homes in Dallas and beyond, and we were absolutely taken by the Cher collection in this one. We’ve never seen such a personal collection in a home on the market — something that is widely discouraged when marketing a property, as many people will be turned off to buying an overly personal home.

And for the record, the anonymous source who sent us this story tip is extremely catty and classless, so we blame him. 😉 We can agree on one thing, though — Stay unique, Shane!

      My cher,

This blog is all about worshipping real estate, and the Wednesday WTF seeks out highly unusual homes. We are not eviscerating anyone’s palace nor devotion to his Cher because we have long maintained that everyone has a right to his or her unique design (as long as we can see it!). WTF doesn’t deal with the personalities behind the homes, hence today’s post. That Shane’s home is as unique as he is makes him even more love-able!

The garage over that fence was mine for 10 years, but I never knew what lay only 25 feet away from me! Shane and Billy were very sweet neighbors
