There seems to be a new trend in real estate photography, and that’s shooting a property more like an interior design magazine. It creates a romantic, beautiful view of a home, with lots of close-ups of the pretty staging details.

Our Thursday Three Hundred is the recipient of this style of photography, and the results are lovely. Located at 714 N. Hampton Rd., this Austin stone traditional sits pretty on an elevated lot in North Oak Cliff’s West Kessler Heights. Built in 1941, it retains classic architectural details of the era, like original hardwoods and arched doorways, married with more modern updates, like a renovated kitchen.

Located near W. Davis Street and N. Hampton Road, this home has three bedrooms, one full bathroom, one half bathroom, and 1,765 square feet on two stories with mature landscaping and charmed curb appeal (seriously, look at that house! Don’t you want to see more?). Let’s get started.

North Oak Cliff is one of the few areas of Dallas with any elevation changes to speak of, and it benefits this house. Its architecture takes advantage of the rolling hills to create two stories.

The one big downside of this house is that it’s right on Hampton, a busy road. So there’s that. But I think the plusses more than make up for it, especially when you consider there’s a big backyard.

In the living room, the fresh finishes stand out, like new paint, pristine wood floors, crown moulding, huge new windows, and new shutters. There’s an original fireplace, and the electrical panel replaced this year. Next to the fireplace is a cool, vintage circular window that adds to the character.

The updated kitchen has new cabinets and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. A tiled breakfast bar overlooks the living room. Next to the kitchen, the formal dining room is a pleasant, welcoming space. Nearby, the sunroom is heaven for anyone with a green thumb, with lots of windows and natural light.

The downstairs bathroom is tiled with original blue, and the master bedroom is good sized with hardwoods, shutters on the large windows, and crown moulding. Another bedroom has fabulous architectural details, lots of windows, and a half bath.

The backyard is surprisingly large, with gorgeous mature shade trees.

This home was listed Nov. 28 by Melissa O’Brien with Dave Perry-Miller InTown for $325,000.

Now that’s a darn nice house! Beautifully styled; looks so inviting. Really really nice presentation. Bet it won’t last long.
