As if the wonderful shopping at Highland Park Village wasn’t reason enough to get you to go there, this Friday, one of the sweetest home tours ever launches in the upscale shopping center.

The fifth annual Gingerbread Stroll kicks off on Friday, Nov. 18, with 11 stops featuring some of the most artful gingerbread houses we’ve ever laid eyes on. The tour, featuring edible real estate from 11 of Dallas’ most talented pastry chefs, offers tour goers a chance to bid on these creations, with all proceeds going to Community Partners of Dallas.

“The Gingerbread Stroll has become a wonderful tradition during the most wonderful time of the year,” said Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate agent Christine McKenny, who founded the Gingerbread Stroll in 2011. “People of all ages gather with their family and friends to attend, and it’s always exciting to see how the chefs express themselves creatively. Everyone loves a gingerbread house!”

Each year, a different charity is selected as the beneficiary of 100 percent of the proceeds, and in 2014, the Stroll raised more than $16,000 for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Community leader Lynn McBee serves as the event advisor for the Gingerbread Stroll. The Gingerbread Stroll has raised over $40,000 for area children in need since its inception.

This year’s Gingerbread Stroll attendees can enter to win giveaway prizes, including a holiday carriage ride through the magical streets of Highland Park for six by Threejays Carriages. Attendees also have an opportunity to purchase gingerbread cookies from Royal Blue Grocery and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Community Partners of Dallas.
