You know we love celebrating Mother’s Day with a home tour, and this year you’ll have two chances to win tickets to fantastic tours. The first giveaway here on CandysDirt.com is for a pair of tickets to the 33rd annual Fairmount National Historic District Mother’s Day Tour of Homes this weekend. Named one of “The South’s best Comeback Neighborhoods” by Southern Living, this home tour features the charming Arts & Crafts architecture for which this area is known. Bungalows, Prairie Four-Squares, and even a cool converted warehouse have all been beautifully restored and are ready for you to tromp through!

2234 Hurley

2234 Hurley is a fantastic Prairie-style home on the tour.

Lofts

The College Avenue Lofts is a fantastic restoration and repurposing project in the Historic Fairmount Neighborhood.

The tour, which is May 9-10 from noon to 6 p.m., starts with a parade on Saturday morning. Tourgoers can then grab lunch at one of the many amazing Magnolia Avenue restaurants before checking out the homes, many of which were built between 1908 and 1925. There is a palpable sense of history in this neighborhood, and some of the properties include original details such as beveled glass doors and windows, beautiful woodwork, spacious front porches, exposed rafters, colonnades, bookcases, and overhanging eaves. Tickets are $15 each if purchased before Saturday, and $20 the day of the tour. Tour proceeds benefit the Fairmount Neighborhood Association.

To enter, leave a comment on this post between now and 2 p.m. tomorrow, which is when we’ll select the winners. For better chances, be sure to share this contest with your friends! Tickets will be available at Will Call at the Welcome Pavilion inside SiNaCa Studios at 1013 W. Magnolia Ave.

I’m celebrating my first Mother’s Day as a mother and I’d love to go see all the houses.

This has been a long-standing Mother’s Day tradition for my mom and I! LOVE seeing the care that goes into restoring these old properties, while spending the afternoon with my mom! <3
