The Man Who Inspired George W. Bush to Run for President Lists Dallas Ritz-Carlton High Rise, but Says He Will Return!

Ritz 1602 over view Reverend Mark Craig is the retired former senior minister of Highland Park United Methodist Church, and also one of former President George W. Bush’s best friends. In fact, Reverend Craig not only served as the Bushes’ pastor (and surely, counselor, as pastors do), he gave the dedication prayer at the opening of the President George W. Bush Presidential Center  last April, 2013.

President Bush has said on more than one occasion that one of Rev. Craig’s sermons provided inspiration for him to run for president of the United States.

Well, Mark and his lovely wife, Sandra, are also great parents. I know, because my son went to school with his children. But they are selling their Tower Residence at the Ritz-Carlton now because their youngest child is 13 and they need more room. They’d buy a three-bedroom unit if one was available but it’s not – the Ritz is all sold out. Their 2,164-square-foot Ritz unit is on the 16th floor with the best views of downtown ever. It is elegant, comfortable, and outfitted to hold Mark’s vast book collection. It has two bedrooms, two full and one-half baths, a decked out kitchen with Wolf, Sub-Zero and custom cabinetry, communion wine fridge, and of course a laundry room. The master bath is the Ritz signature Sherry Hayslip- designed white Carrera marble. But when it comes to football games and Spirit night parties, slumber parties or Sweet Sixteen parties. I can see how the Craigs might need a little more space, maybe even a yard.

The Ritz home, which they have owned since September of 2013,  is being marketed with the dynamo, sell-out-all-the Ritz marketing gusto of Kyle Crews and the Allie Beth Urban team. And to do so, Kyle has dipped into his creative caverns and produced this amazing video by Scott Haws and Matt Rollins of Narr8 Media. I’ve met Scott and Matt, and both have backgrounds in broadcast journalism. They did the incredible video for Timber Creek Ranch, are working on one for the Regency Row town homes. They also created this video on unit 1602 which is available for $1,795,000. Note how much Rev. Craig loves the Ritz: he says that when their child graduates and heads off to college, they will likely be back!

Another reason Reverend Craig might be selling his home is the construction site plainly visible in that last photo outside his windows.

That won’t be construction forever! Have you tried living in New York or San Francisco and not seeing at least one construction project per block?

Right, and once the new park is right across the street values will go up even more!
