Late Late Super Bowl Edition: I Want to Live in This Bluffview Home With Pete Carroll

Do you know that, on the day after the Super Bowl last year, 1.5 million Americans called in sick to work and another 4.4 million were late? In fact, many think we should just go ahead and make it a holiday!

A study by The Workforce Institute at Kronos Inc., a Massachusetts based workforce management consulting firm, shows that Americans are more likely to call in sick on the day after the Super Bowl and those that do show up are more likely to waste time, doing things like googling a certain hot pro football coach they admired during last night’s game, even though he maybe made a little mistake, like throwing the ball to the other team instead of running it over a finish line a mere 36 inches away.

(Poor Pete.) (I’m here for you!)

That’s why this is Monday Morning Millionaire Super Bowl edition: I have spent all day recovering from last night’s highly stressful game, also sneezing, and researching Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. That man is so hot! It had to be another coach who made that dumb call that cost Carroll’s team the Superbowl.

Pete Carroll is also married (damn) and met his wife at the University of the Pacific. (Double damn. They recruited me, I should have gone to school there!) She looks a bit like Susan Sarandon, no? Is Sarandon still alive?

But if, IF, Pete and I were to have a place in Dallas, this is where we would live: Lisa Besserer’s hot new listing at 5344 Surrey Circle.  Breathtaking Santa Barbara beauty nestled on a Bluffview creek. The cool California style, the huge windows that bring the outdoors right into every room, and the myriad of living areas that are all sophisticated but easy. This is a home Pete Carroll would feel totally at home in. I would even let him put his feet on the furniture. He could invite Tom Brady over to help deflate the pool toys.

Surrey Circle was built in 1941 on a lush one-half acre lot on one of Bluffview’s better streets. The home was completely remodelled in 2009, lending it full charm. The materials used in the new version are of amazing quality — in fact, the home is ready for an Architectural Digest photo shoot. Floors are tile, rich dark wood and stone.

Look at the kitchen: Carrera marble , commercial appliances, a pizza oven, even a deep fat fryer for your turkey next Thanksgiving. The apron on the island and all custom cabinets are made of Brazilian rosewood. Top of the line appliances and energy-efficient windows, the negative edge pool, spa and creek are visible from almost every window. The master is on the first floor and massive, (and SEXY), with a sitting area, fireplace, balcony and huge master bath with soaking tub and towel warmer. Four more bedrooms are upstairs with a media room. The home even has an original wine cellar with a cooling system.

(This cold weather may not be pleasant, but at least we are not getting chomped on every time we set foot outside!)

The home jam packs beautiful living into 6996 square feet, all of it wonderful and EXTREMELY PRIVATE, tailor made for Mr. Carroll and moi.

What’s that you say? I have a snowball’s chance of getting this guy to Dallas, much less to 5344 Surrey Circle? I think maybe I have a five percent chance:

…a team starting at the 25-yard line and down three points with 20 seconds left in the game will win about 5 percent of the time.

Whatever. Whether Carroll made a bad call, or is protecting one of his underling coaches, how great is he to take full responsibility into those beautiful blue eyes?

Carroll also took responsibility afterward, telling his puffy-eyed players, “There’s really nobody to blame but me.”

“I don’t want them to think anything other than that,” Carroll said. “A very, very hard lesson. I hate to learn the hard way, but there’s no other way to look at it right now.”

It’s a haunting moment for a franchise that was so close to bliss.

You want bliss? 5344 Surrey Circle, just on the market and listed for $3,799,000. And hot — like someone I know in Seattle!
