For the most part, the criminals who target the Park Cities took a Thanksgiving break like the rest of us. But a few filled their pockets with loot before filling their bellies with turkey and dressing.

A week ago today, residents of the 4400 block of Lorraine Avenue woke up to find that their vehicles had been violated by bad guys, including one who is apparently averse to debt.

  • Between 10:30 p.m. and 5:45 a.m., a thief stole a black 2012 Ford F150 that was parked on the street.
  • Between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m., a burglar broke into a black 2011 Toyota 4Runner and stole a $200 pair of Oakley sunglasses and a $150 iPod.
  • Between midnight and 11:30 a.m., a burglar broke into a black 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe and stole a $200 radar detector as well as a wallet that contained $20 in cash and a Colorado driver’s license. Credit cards that had been in the wallet were tossed in the back seat.

Between 9 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 12:25 a.m. on Nov. 25, a thief entered a black 2010 Ford F150 that had been left unlocked in the 4200 block of Bryn Mawr Drive and stole a $300 radar detector, $200 worth of tools, $160 worth of rifle ammunition, and a $10 headband flashlight.

Between 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 6:15 a.m. on Nov. 25, a thief entered a silver Mercedes ML350 that had been left unlocked in a driveway in the 4300 block of Versailles Avenue and stole a wallet containing $100 in cash, three credit cards, and a driver’s license, as well as two pairs of sunglasses; one was valued at $2,000, while the other was valued at $100.

Between 9 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 25, a thief rummaged through at least two vehicles that had been left unlocked in the 4600 block of Livingston Avenue. Nothing was reported stolen from a silver 2010 Lexus GX460, but $3 in cash was taken from a white 2004 Toyota 4Runner.

Between 7 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 7:25 a.m. on Nov. 26, a burglar broke into a yellow 2003 Hummer H2 in the 3400 block of Daniel Avenue and stole $1,330 worth of property, including $655 worth of tennis rackets.

At 2:18 p.m. on Nov. 26, a resident of the 4400 block of Edmondson Avenue reported that several items were stolen from his detached garage, including tools and a compressor. The victim said the crime could have happened as far back as a month ago.

Between 8 p.m. on Nov. 27 and 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, a burglar broke into a silver 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 4400 block of Glenwick Lane and rummaged through the glove box. Nothing was reported stolen.

After 4 a.m. on Nov. 29, a resident of the 3900 block of Purdue Street reported that a thief stole a $200 Canon camera from his silver 2009 Acura MDX.
