BREAKING: Couple Uses Facebook Yard Sale Group to List University Park Home on McFarlin
Share News:
I got a rather urgent text from our lovely Candace Tharp just moments ago, directing me to the Park Cities Online Yard Sale Facebook Group. Sandwiched between posts selling some designer jean cutoffs and an antique chest was this post from a member:
First: $650,000? What do you think of that price, Realtors?
Second: Do you think this is a good way for owners to test the waters? Of course, Rogers Healy was one of the first Realtors to tell the sellers to call him ASAP. We have a note out to Rogers right now just to see if he’s had any bites or a buyer that is hard and fast.

The management of move.com and for that matter the top management of all the national firms (including RE/MAX) who I work with, were all asleep on the wheel and still are. I had a client tell me 'yes I know Zillow is inaccurate but I love the consumer interface!' How difficult is it for these mega sites to emulate a market leader?
Wow great idea. But she will only reach buyers in that Facebook Group for now… at least until all the thousands of CandysDirt readers see this! That's lot value… in HPISD!
Not necessarily, Candace. Rogers may well be representing buyers who will pay his commission rather than Rogers asking sellers to do so. It might be a "win win" and make everybody happy. I'll bet that's what happens.
I like that! But imagine if Facebook got into Real Estate….
I think the Park Cities Online Yard Sale concept is genius and my only caveat is that the owner of the FB site driving traffic should be compensated in some way if the audience she's built leads to a sale. Hey, it's business ; )
Seems easy but lots of pot holes when selling your self. It is like doing your own surgery until you get into it.
Yes! Life just got so much more simple! And all this time I thought my 300 hours of certification, background check, fingerprinting and mandatory continuing education every year spanning 25yrs actually benefitted my clients and our industry. Oh, silly me. Couple of clicks and voila! She’s sold!
