Cheri Copley Book

After suffering chronic migraines for 40 years, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that Cheri A. Copley’s mother felt like giving up hope more than a few times. But this amazing woman is the inspiration for Copley’s book entitled The Daisy.

“I knew that she was frustrated with the pain and that every day was a challenge,” Copley said. “After writing [the book], I realized that I also wrote it for myself.”

The book is about a Daisy who loves her sunny patch in a garden until a heavy rain leaves her stuck in the mud. When she’s just about to give up hope that the gardener will help her, an unusual friend helps her realize that the gardener is always there.

You can meet Copley from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Bernadette Schaeffler Collection located at 1616 Hi Line Drive in the Dallas Design District. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served, and 10 percent of all book sales will go directly to the Migraine Research Foundation to help discover a cure for these debilitating headaches.
