R.I.P. Pat Summerall, We Know You Loved Your Southlake Home Almost as Much as Football

710 S White ChapelThis is the home that Pat built in 1996, a sprawling spread of comfort and beauty on a street with the name of White Chapel Road. Drive down to 710 South White Chapel in Southlake, and you might think you are in another world. All the homes have magnificent setback, lots of 4 to 6 acres, winding southern-mansion drives, often with trees lining them. This home, the Summerall residence, is on 5.1 acres covered with trees. It has it’s own pond with a little bridge. It is really your very own piece of paradise. Alas, there is enough greenery cleared to have a fishing pond, a putting green and a sand trap!

The 8,590 square foot home has seven bedrooms, seven full and two half baths, a five car garage, six living areas, library/study, gameroom, a second master suite, and there is even a sauna and steam room plus an exercise room down in the basement. About that library/study: it has black-out shades to double as a media room! Master is down, three bedrooms up with a caretaker’s quarters that includes a full kitchen. The kitchen is a chef’s vision of heaven with gas stove, two sinks, and two dishwashers. The master suite is tricked out like a palace — fireplace, his and her’s vanities and commodes (LOVE double potties!) and a walk-in closet the size of Lakewood. And by the way, every bedroom in this house has it’s own “en suite” bathroom.

No, we do not do halls.

Pat Summerall died yesterday at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center at the age of 82.
