Friday Four Hundred: Modern For Less Than Half a Mil on White Rock Lake No Less!

Share News:

What’s flying off MLS faster than you can say “Hip Pocket Listing?” Modern everything. Midcentury Modern, Contemporary, and plain ol’ modern homes are so in demand right now. What’s even better, especially for 7117 Lyre Lane, is that if it’s remodeled, it fetches top dollar, too.

I’m pretty sure this 3/3, priced at $450,000, won’t be available very long. This house, at almost 2,000 square feet, was completely gutted in 2008. Everything you can lay eyes on is pretty much new, including all of the gorgeous honey maple cabinets and the jetted tub in the master bathroom. The arched front windows and tall ceilings are a dead giveaway that this home, built in 1971, was once a Spanish Revival. Not anymore, though!

The backyard is fantastic, too, with a raised fire pit surrounded by stone seating. It’s just perfect for entertaining guests of any age.

This house is in a fantastic area for a family. Schools in this area include Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School. You’ve got Lakewood Park just down the road, and you’re super close to White Rock Lake.

The clock is ticking! I can’t wait to see how fast this one is snatched up!

Had lunch with a major Highland Park builder yesterday who has about 14 verticals, and yes more folks are wanting modern these days — transitional, he called it!

Ok, so I'm picking nits. It's a stunning house, but the tub/shower combination is a drawback. They ought to separate, in my opinion. Still, it should go FAST!
