Tuesday Two Hundred: Back to School on The Brain? University Terrace 3 Bedroom is Ready For a Young Family

Share News:

Tax-free weekend has come and gone, and the new school year looms like the dark clouds above us. Well, at least that’s the case if you’re young enough to be heading back to school. I’m sure there are several mothers and fathers and caregivers out there that are intensely delighted about the impending school year.

Perhaps, though, there’s a family out there that is craving more space, whose young tribe needs a home with room to stretch and play in a great Dallas ISD attendence zone, to boot. For those kind of needs, I think University Terrace is a perfect neighborhood. This quiet enclave of ranch homes sandwiched by Northwest Highway and DART’s Blue Line tracks is full of great properties that have been meticulously updated.

The average property value of University Terrace is in the middle range for the Lakewood area, averaging in the mid $200K to $300K range. There’s an active crime watch and tons of young families. You’re really close to shopping, with the Medallion Center just down Northwest Highway, and if cycling is your thing, White Rock Lake is a stone’s throw away.

For all those commuters out there, you’re within walking distance of the White Rock DART station, which will save you money and headaches! If you have misgivings about living close to a DART line, know this: The right-of-way for the tracks includes a greenbelt separating homes from the rails. And the trains are pretty quiet, too.

The house itself, 7318 Rockhurst Drive, is 2,227 square feet and move-in ready. The kitchen is fully updated, with gleaming tile, fresh counters, and stainless steel appliances, including built-in double ovens. You can tell from the openness, there’s been extensive remodeling. The kitchen, living, and dining rooms flow together, all brightened by two full-light double doors leading to the covered patio, which is perfect for parties.

There are three bedrooms and two baths, and a den that is a great family room right off of the kitchen. I honestly wouldn’t change a thing about the house, because with kids just starting school who has the time?!

University Manor is one of those neighborhoods that has been a best kept secret for years. It's a heartbeat away from everything and has some of the best pricing I've seen anywhere in Dallas.
    This is a GREAT house!

Great lot size and absolutely adore that huge covered patio in the back. Upgrades in the kitchen and bathrooms are nice and the secondary bedrooms are actually decently sized. This house will be a great home for any family.

You could screen in the porch, too, very easily and keep out the skeeters!

Will it make your kids smarter to live in a neighborhood called “university”?
