We know you’ve always wanted to see inside those “10 Most Beautiful” Homes they run over at D, I know I always did and still do! So I was delighted to be able to finally show you! This home at 3722 Cragmont, one of my favorite streets in a way cool ‘hood called Northern Hills, was feted in last fall 2011’s issue! I love English Tudor and this is such a classic.

This home reminds me of Sanborne House on the Dartmouth campus. It’s like you live where tea is served any minute! Located on a prestigious large corner lot with beautiful landscaping and lighted trees, the 1927 nee home has a slate roof, stone walkways, tall ceilings, leaded glass windows, beamed ceilings and WINDOW SEATS! The mosaic floored entry has a curved stairway, and overlooks the living room’s arched marble fireplace and large bay leaded glass windows. The dining room has two sets of French doors. It  leads to the glass walled family room with a theater system and a shoji screen, a room that does double duty! It overlooks the thickly treed yard. Look at that knotty pine paneled den with fireplace, built-in bookcases, walls of hidden closets and wet bar — reminds me of the Camp House at The DeGoyler. The kitchen is a dream with  limestone counters, Wolf, Subzero/, Thermador appliances, warming drawer, a pot filler faucet and glass tile backsplash. There is an additional office/living/flex space off the kitchen with a coffee bar.

The master is upstairs, bummer, but is large with walk in closet, updated attached bath that screams Ann Sachs, and attached office-study. The home has three bedrooms total, two and a half baths,  plus two additional bedrooms in 3220 square feet. Great quarters feature wide plank pine flooring, a built-in bed plus a wall of seating, perfect for a home office. There is also a garage, outdoor BBQ and flagstone side patio, sprinkler and security system, buried electrical lines. I don’t need to tell you how wonderful this ‘hood is, with Katy trail access and walking distance to Knox Henderson. Asking $1,175,000 and this would be a PERFECT downsizer/forever home for us. I am also very, very curious to see how the Most Beautiful Home label helps sell this home: stay tuned, stay very tuned!
