Candy Sale of the Week: Maybe Rick Perry Wants to Live on A Cul-De-Sac, Too?

Share News:

10045 Surrey Oaks is one of those dream locations in Preston Hollow where you are buying about the most blue chip land available. This is like buying IBM stock in 1985 or Apple in 1998. You are getting 1.5 acres on a cul-de-sac off Walnut Hill Lane and Inwood and it will always be coveted by the rich and famous. I mean, who knows, maybe Rick Perry WILL make it to the White House, after all. (And monkeys will fly…) Then he’ll come back and want to live on his own cul-de-sac (not too close to George and Laura Bush, of course) and you will sell him this lovely home, at a profit. Rick Perry will HEAL the housing market. He’ll create more jobs, he’ll nix Dodd-Frank and he’ll…

Just think what a wonderful buyer Rick would be: if he had three objections to the contract, he’d only recall two!

I digress: this home has walls of glass for beautiful views of the magnificent wooded lot and unique terrain. There is an open floor plan, with 14′ ceilings in formal rooms, stunning two-sided fireplace with stainless steel surround, a wall of built-ins, complete with wet bar, and easy access/view to the decked out granite and stainless loaded kitchen. All opens to a large deck with incredible views and space for elaborate entertaining.

The master suite has great views and a sumptuous bath with separate dressing areas and huge closets. Bedrooms on the lower level have that cute jack-and-jill bathroom deal, plus a den and adjoining office.

Built in 1998, the home is spacious but not overtly huge — 4304 square feet. In fact, the owners must have forseen a future thirst for homes of this size as buyers are increasingly eschewing the mega mega mansions. It has great wall space for a great art collections, though the windows rather frame the natural art outside. You get three bedrooms, two and a half baths, two living areas, library study and a 2 car garage. The price is $2,295,000 and give the size of the lot and the location, I think , not bad. Not bad at all. Listed with Molly Malone at Dave Perry-Miller & Associates.

Preston Hollow is such a beautiful area–much like the Park Cites, but with bigger lots and lower price tags. Perfect for private school families.
