east villageIt may be two days after Thanksgiving, but we’re betting that with the holiday entertaining season upon us, you might just be on the lookout for a home with great space for that, such as our Saturday Six Hundred in the East Village.

Listed by Brandon Travelstead and the Travelstead Property Group with Dallas City Center Realtors, this modern attached home at 4634 Coles Manor Lane built by Conrad Homes gives plenty of space — 2,650 square feet of total living space — for entertaining.

The three-bedroom, three-bath home has an open floor plan downstairs that provides plenty of room for a buyers imagination to take over when it comes to furniture layout — and also gives wide open space for entertaining. sachseWhen a Realtor pitches you a listing that is her own home, you sit up and pay attention — especially when she tells you that it was custom built just for her family. And our Saturday Six Hundred this week in Sachse is definitely a home that should earn your attention.

LaVenda Lee, who is with Ebby Halliday 190-Richardson, wrote us last week about her home at 5517 Sachse Road, after pitching it on our Facebook group, Getting the Dirt, during “Pitch Me Please Thursday.”

“This is my personal home,” she told us. “It was designed by my husband and me, and custom built by my father who built homes for 36 years in Lubbock until he died seven years ago.”

Master home builder? Check. Gorgeous grounds? Check. Privacy? Check.

And those grounds are gorgeous, and the home was built to showcase them. (more…)

PlanoTucked in the Plano neighborhood of Bent Tree West, our Saturday Six Hundred this week is a magnificently updated two-story home where seriously, no expense was spared to make it a gorgeous, family ready retreat.

Stager Karen Eubank was brought in by listing agent Susan Gentry of Ebby Halliday – Ebby’s Little White House prior to the sale to give advice on prospective updates, and said that the changes the owner. Thanks to her, we have an idea of how much the updates the owner chose transformed this home at 4411 Highlander Dr.

What we see in the before pictures is a well-built home, but a typical 1980s era home with a need for updates and designer touches that today’s buyers want.

It’s the rare seller that not only realizes what is necessary, but also moves ahead with those updates,” Eubank said. “So, for me it was a delight to work with a seller that shared my vision.” (more…)

It’s not every day you find an adorable yet sexy Hollywood Heights home smack dab in one of what many consider to be the neighborhood’s best blocks. Add the news that it’s in the Lakewood Elementary attendance zone, and suddenly your ears perk up.

So, of course, we immediately fired off an email to Realtor Joe Kacynski of David Bush Realtors to find out about his new hip pocket at 6918 Hammond Ave., right in the infamous “Hammond Cheese Society,” a group of neighbors who are responsible for the bustling social life present on the street, and in the neighborhood.

“This amazing home is over 2,020 square feet, with an additional 400 square feet of quarters over the garage,” Kacynski said, adding that “6918 Hammond is one of the exemplary homes in Hollywood Heights.”

And it’s a home that has been featured twice on the Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica Home Tour and has been written about in several publications (including ours, where the home was a Friday Five Hundred in 2013). (more…)
