I came across 3601 Wentwood recently and think it is the best back-to-school tribute we could offer. Why? Take a look at this huge master bath. It has a fainting couch, a huge shower, a soaking tub, and plenty of room to install the coffee and martini/margarita bar I have planned for it. Seriously, can you think of a better place for a built in margarita machine than the master bath? I imagine every mommy in town today would kill for a place like this to hide in the second the kids leave for carpool!
This home is in University Park, just south of Northwest Highway, corner of Wentwood and Thackery. NorthPark is a hop, skip and a jump. Originally designed by Larry Boerder and built in 1985, you would never know it after a recent renovation by Nickey Oates that included the floorplan. The home basically looks as if it were built last year. Listed with Gianna Cerullo of Dave Perry-Miller for $2,695,000.
A whopping 6859 square feet, Wentwood has five bedrooms, seven full baths plus one half bath. There is also a two car garage and beautiful landscaping. The entry features a two story ceiling and curved wrought iron staircase, drawing you into the formals: a paneled study with a recessed domed ceiling, a living room anchored by a marble fireplace and a formal dining room. All the bedrooms are upstairs with en suite bathrooms. A third floor game room could be a bedroom, guest space or nanny quarters as it has a full bath and closet. The kitchen is brand new with high end appliances, a center island, and tons of storage. Walls of French doors lead to a stone patio and landscaped backyard.
The second floor master bedroom features a fireplace, built-in cabinetry and a private patio. But it’s the master bath that has our heart: his and her vanities, a huge walk in closet, a luxurious marble shower with skylight and a soaking tub. You can be in that tub at 8:45 a.m. and not emerge ’till afternoon carpool…
So… where would YOU put the margarita machine?
