We generally think of architect Charles Dilbeck as the eclectic dude that was inspired by Tom Mix (look him up, my Millennials) to create whimsical homes with stained glass, iron gates, and fanciful details. Georgian Colonial ranch

This iconic, massive Georgian Colonial ranch at 11053 Strayhorn Drive in Country Club Estates, East Dallas, is a real find for you and your Valentine. Lucky heart-shaped duckies, it will be open on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The estate was built in 1969 for George C. McIngvale, a founder of Bishop Lynch High School. And I’m totally serious about this house: I swear there is nothing, nada, anything like this beautiful estate anywhere in Dallas.

McIngvale was a philanthropist, the head of an insurance company.He was also was instrumental in raising the capital to build Bishop Lynch High School, recognized today as one of the finest private schools in Dallas.

“The neighborhood is a hidden gem,” Dave Perry-Miller listing agent Ryan Streiff said. “It’s under the radar, near the Dallas Athletic Club, with not just one, but two golf courses designed by legendary golf champion Jack Nicklaus.”

Houzz

Remember when we kept track of things we loved by tearing out magazine pages and putting them in a binder? It was an idea book for our future homes. The digital age changed everything and brought us the ultimate idea book with the launch of Houzz.com in 2009. Houzz founders Adi Tatarko and Alon Cohen were remodeling their own home. They wanted an easy way to communicate ideas to their team, and they also wanted to be able to find skilled professionals.
