If you’ve ever driven on East Texas backroads, you know there are a few customs to follow. Number one, give a friendly wave to local traffic, especially cowboy hat-wearing gentlemen driving old pickup trucks. Number two, just know that Google Maps probably won’t help you here, and that’s certainly the case for getting to this east Texas luxury lake home we’re featuring today on CandysDirt.com. Trust us, the two hour trip out of Dallas is worth it for this 4,858-sq-ft lodge-style lakefront property that’s up for auction by Elite Auctions later this month.

OPEN HOUSE PREVIEW | 1-4 p.m., Nov. 10-11. The auction takes place 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, with final preview on Friday, Nov. 16. Visit EliteAuctions.com/109-Pennys-Path for pre-registration instructions and driving directions.

You’ll find peaceful landscape at 109 Penny’s Path near Marshall, Texas, where this lodge-style home is situated on a two-lot property totaling 2.84-acres. The auction lot includes this five-bedroom, five-and-half-bath home, nearly three acres of lakefront property, two-boat, covered slip dock on the water, and another lot that’s open for development or sale. Maybe it’s time to build that family compound at the lake!

The auction was Saturday, as we told you, and so many have asked us, did 3508 Bryn Mawr actually sell at the auction?

You bet it did. Terms are not being revealed, but you know I will find out.

Created by Emerson Residential in 2006, the rock-solid stunner has five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, one half bath, a designer kitchen, expansive master suite, and lovely outdoor area with a covered patio and fireplace. Enough room for a small pool, and there is even a small sun room off the back yard that would be a perfect entertainment hub.

The house sold at auction on September 1, the market listing price with Allie Beth Allman’s Lillie Young a hair under $3.5 million. This home has been listed for as much as $3.9 in the past. Elite Auctions’ Market Director Southwest, Alicia Chmielewski, couldn’t give me many details other than the fact that she had two very happy home sellers!

Did you catch the article in the Wall Street Journal this week? “Former Major League Baseball All-Star Michael Young is auctioning his 7,715-square-foot Dallas mansion without reserve next month.”

That’s the one we have been telling you about! That’s where we are having our CandysDirt.com Staff Party TOMORROW! This is a rare opportunity to buy a celebrity home at auction in coveted University Park, with top rated schools and security, on a quarter acre of land with five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half baths, hand-scraped hardwood floors, recirculating water heaters, and decorative lighting fixtures, to say the least. And it is listed for $3.5 million. Michael Young said he wanted to take a more “creative route” to sell it.

On the north shores of Grapevine Lake, I’ve discovered an elegant Flower Mound waterfront home sitting on just over 1 acre. This beauty was recently reimagined and we’re going to be there July 14!

Earlier this week, I wrote about the first property of our progressive staff party, the massive Chateau Du Lac mansion at 5905 Giverny. Now it’s time to talk about the second fabulous house, just 1.6 miles away.

Located at 1200 Noble Way, this rare find will be offered at auction next month with no reserve by Elite Auctions. It is entirely updated with an on-trend color palette and transitional feel. It offers 7,993 square feet on two stories with a four-car garage, five bedrooms, five living areas, hardwood floors throughout, and over 5,000 square feet of outdoor living that feel like a resort. There’s even a six-hole golf green with three tee area and sand trap.

Our staff party will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, and you can RSVP here. In the meantime, let’s take a look.

Exquisite Chateau Du Lac Mansion Will Host Next CandysDirt.com Staff Party | CandysDirt.com

If you’re ready to have your jaw hit the floor, make plans for our next CandysDirt.com Staff Party on July 14. It will be a progressive affair looking at two exquisite properties and today, I want to show you the first, a massive Chateau Du Lac mansion in Flower Mound.

Located at 5905 Giverny, this 14,906-square-foot manse sits on 8.34 acres, walking distance to Grapevine Lake. The gated homesite offers the utmost privacy and security while also affording the homeowner multiple lifestyle and entertainment options, including the ability to have both a helipad and horses!

Some of the features — and I could go on and on — include a ten-car garage, eight beautifully appointed bedrooms, a wine cellar that doubles as safe room, two full kitchens, a dining hall that can accommodate 28, and a pond with a well house and mill.

Our staff party will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, and you can RSVP here. I’ll have another post on the second property later this week. In the meantime, you’ve got to see this one!

In the big cities of America, houses worth $1 million or more make up over 4 percent of all properties, a share that has gone up 3.8 times since 2002, according to Trulia. So if you’re selling, how do you stand out and get noticed by the right buyers?

Luxury home auctions are the choice for more and more sellers — they’re quick, competitive, and add a sense of urgency to the sale. They also help establish fair value for a hard-to-price asset, like a highly customized luxury home.

Case in point: Former Texas Rangers’ first baseman Mark Teixeira is selling his fabulous mansion, pictured above, in Westlake’s Vaquero community through Elite Auctions at a no-reserve event on May 12. The home has been on and off the market for years with no luck; choosing an auction now is the smart move, says Elite Auctions President and Founder Randy Haddaway.

“High-end houses with big wow factor are perfect candidates for luxury home auctions, like Teixeira’s extraordinary one-acre waterfront lot in Vaquero,” Haddaway said. “These auctions bring with them concentrated periods of marketing that get a lot of people paying attention to the property during that time and the sale will happen at a definite time.”

Auction Alert! Snag Mark Teixeira's Westlake Vaquero Mansion with No-Reserve May 12 | CandysDirt.com

Former Texas Rangers’ first baseman Mark Teixeira hasn’t played for the team in more than a decade and retired from baseball in 2016. So it’s time for the five-time Gold Glove Award winner to part with his sprawling Westlake mansion, a waterfront property in the exclusive gated golf community of Vaquero.

Valued at more than $4 million, the stone-and-stucco house at 2220 King Fisher Dr. will be auctioned May 12 at 11 a.m. in a no-reserve event hosted by Elite Auctions

We have certainly crooned about this home, and will continue to do so. Sitting on 1.08 acres, the 8,554-square-foot house offers an ideal floorplan with five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, four half baths, three living areas, two dining areas, indoor-outdoor theater with wet bar, master suite wing, game room, a separate casita for guests, wine cellar, two-story office, pool, hot tub, and cloistered patio. The custom millwork is part of a look that can only be described as perfection!

Teixeira said Vaquero was “the coolest resort community I’d ever seen,” and living there felt like going on a “mini vacation” with its golf lifestyle. He’s hit the nail on the head — Vaquero is unlike any other in North Texas.

Before the auction, come to a Cinco de Mayo CandysDirt.com Staff Party May 5 at this exquisite property. RSVP after the jump!
