My favorite thing about warmer weather is taking the party outside, and there’s no better way to do that than with a fully fledged outdoor kitchen. Though some homes have a grilling station, the outdoor kitchen — complete with hybrid grill, beverage fridge, ice maker, and prep sink — has long been on my list of lust-worthy features in a home.

If you feel the same way, then you’ll definitely want to stop by Capital Distributing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, to catch the very first summer demonstration at the showroom: Grills! Of course, we have to say that Coyote Grills and Lynx Grills are the top-of-the-line fixtures in any serious outdoor kitchen. They make perfect companions to Big Green Eggs! See why these are superior up close and personal!

Michael Davis and daughter Jennifer, Director of Marketing, Capital Distributing

I have known Jan and Michael Davis since they opened their very first showroom in the Dallas Design District back in the early 2000’s. We hit it off immediately as their love of family and children just shone through, and I was immediately drawn by their huge circle of warmth. We became fast friends — I could not wait to introduce my family to their’s — and they have remained fast, steady friends and supporters throughout the years. During some of my darkest times Jan and Michael were there ready to help, and when I ran for City Council they emailed asking how they could help. I am so proud to have them as friends!

Now comes word that once again, the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) selected Capital Appliance as the Best Appliance Company in North Texas at Thursday’s Design Ovation awards.

They really are the best. I have them on speed dial whenever I need an appliance. We just replaced my Miele dishwashers a few months ago, and when I called and asked how long dishwashers were supposed to last (on average), the good people at Capital knew exactly: 8 years. Mine were 16 years old, but I have two. Only one went out, but I replaced both because broken dishwashers always happen during holidays or major dinner parties.

This family-owned business has been doing upscale kitchens right since 1973, and their showroom off of Stemmons is a wonderful spot to discover the perfect range, ovens, and even laundry system for your home. But Capital is much, much more than appliances. (more…)

Pirch’s Sourcing Saturday Class was an interactive full-house and full table

Renovating your home presents a million decisions. A bunch of them are in the kitchen. Installing a showpiece kitchen is made more difficult because independent appliance ratings at the upper end are spotty at best. Manufacturers aren’t necessarily hiding anything, but something that sells millions of units will always be reviewed more than something that only sells a few thousand.

It’s also a bit of a shot in the dark selecting appliance features when you’re not sure how they work and so whether you’d actually use them. Enter the smart showroom that offers tasty demonstrations to prospective buyers to give you a hands-on feel for each piece in your new kitchen.

Of course, we all know that you can find just about everything for your luxury kitchen at Capital Distributing’s Stemmons Freeway showroom, but today we’re branching out a bit. In the past few weeks, I have visited Pirch in NorthPark Center, Miele in the Design District, and Sub-Zero Wolf in Oaklawn to see how they educate buyers.

Every year, Capital Distributing does the appliance store equivalent of cleaning out the closets. Only this time you can score Miele, Gaggenau, Viking, Sub Zero, and more at yard sale prices. Located at Capital’s Clearance center on John Carpenter Freeway (Highway 183), the sale will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday only. There are no holds, everything is sold as is, and you must pick up within 72 hours.

Even if we’re not necessarily in the market for a Wolf range, a new super-quiet Bosch dishwasher, or a sexy new vent hood, or a washer and dryer that does pretty much everything except fold and put away, we have to look! These are all either uncrated, returned, discontinued, or floor-model appliances that will knock your socks off.

Go ahead and treat yo’ self! What are you planning to get at this luxury appliance mega-sale?
